Ah, sweet immortality.

I noticed Purps had his "thread creation" topic up and felt sad, but then I saw mine was made first and perverse glee coursed through my veins, replacing my white blood cells. I don't remember much after that.
Some cultures would call that Karma. I'd call it a medical case worthy of being written up in The Lancet. Where oh where did your white cells go?

A suggestion:

PurpleRain's [a href="http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.151264"]How to make a successful thread and win friends' thread[/a]. A convenient guide to authoring successful threads.
Could probably get away with paring that up with Samurai Goomba's 'Creating an Awesome Thread (hint: It does not involve Halo)' Thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.149941#3510071] Same idea as ^^.

Scotth266 also did something similar with his Threading Taboos [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.126913#2680801] thread (except that was more on the topic of what is and isn't a good topic for these forums), but that needs a large amount of updating since last time, since all the examples of bad threads have (funnily enough) been 404'd. Also, he hasn't touched it in a while after saying he was going to add political threads to it.
You're right actually, I completely forgot about it. Mainly because I've been busy a lot... my thread in the Reviews section could use some reworking as well.

DAMN YOU LACK OF TIME TO DO PROPER LENGTHY WRITING!!!

Eh, all you need is five minutes to skim the first 10 topics on the site and link them in the examples. No, seriously.

Except now I just accidentally bumped this thread and now IT is in the top ten! Drat!

They said something about Vegas, but I had the TV on and wasn't listening.

On the plus side, I finished Donnie Darko.

Of course I'm right, I'm always right. What else would I be, egotistical?

Don't worry, I'm struggling to find time to write myself; I have a barely started review that I haven't touched since last Friday, along with other things I really should do at some point.

Hopefully they didn't meet a guy called Dr. Gonzo and get a really fast car with no roof and a suitcases full of drugs. Been there, done that -- not a nice experience.

Donnie Darko's weird, I find, but in a good way.

EDIT: What I was actually planning on writing here was a suggestion for your own 'The Escapist Jam Session' [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.151090#3565306] Thread to be put here.

I was waiting for someone to suggest that. I feel uncomfortable adding my own threads to something like this (like the recipe thread) until someone says it might be an idea to do so. I'll add it now.

WanderFreak's 'It Came From Craiglslist' [a href="http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.156355"]Issue #1 (Kidneys, EMS Equipment, and A Hell of a Lot Of Marbles)[/a] A hilarious look at why you should never trust the internet, regardless of how good their exchange rate for marbles may be.
Very nice! I've never even heard of it before today. Consider it added.

Whilst this is active again, can I suggest this:

Suiseiseki IRL's 'TIEM Magazine Interviews 1 -- Neonbob [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.155070?page=1]' A series of interviews with fellow Escapists about their time and experience here.

More interviews to follow, according to Suiseiseki.

I suggest adding the Atheist or Theist thread in the Politics and Religion forum, unless this guide is off topic only

I'm apparently on that list, it sounds like fun!

Nah, it's for every thread that is well accepted by the community on this site. I'll go check it out.

I have no idea whether or not I'm on that list.

Oh, and here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/528.156076]'s the Theist or Atheist thread in the Religion and Politics forum.

You have to PM her if you'd like to be interviewed. Thanks for the update, I'd already sneakily put it in though!

That may be because it was only posted yesterday...

Actually, you could add Wander's [a href="http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Ranty-Review-Fans"]fan group[/a] in stead of his individual threads, as he makes news posts for new works and updates there.
Wow! He puts a lot of effort into those things! I might have to check them out at some stage.

Self plugging time, methinks.

Diagonal Horizontality's [a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.158333]'A User's Guide to User Groups' thread[/a] A guide to the ins and outs of user groups
I love self plugs! I haven't really explored the user groups at all, I'll have to have a look around them...

You may want to update the link for Labyrinth's Escapism [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.162684] thread, seeing as she's now made the new thread for this year's Escapism. Or put it next to the old thread or something like that.

Not a bad idea. I think I'll put it next to the old thread though as Escapism remains my favorite thread on here. So many memories of a really good day.

So find a way to skive off work and turn up for another one.
