Sometimes. When they don't overdo it, dubstep can be pretty good. I can't seem to find an example, though. Sometimes it just gets too "giant bursts of noise"-y.

If I were to judge dubstep in this one post based solely on what I've heard of it so far, I think the Escapist might ban me.

I'm sure there are good dubstep tunes, but it's just so deeply buried under a huge pile of shit.

I kinda like it. it's kind of chaotic and panicky (if you can say that). In a kind of cybergothic kind of way.

to be honest I've listened to a fair amount and most of it sounds the bloody same and the seemingly endless amounts of dubstep "remixes" ( song sample, song sample, unrelated dubstep melody ) are painfully cheesy.

Frankly, I love it. My personal favourite track is Feed Me - Blood Red, which happens to be one of the first I heard.

And then suddenly, dubstep as it sounded when the term was coined;

Enjoy. Deep, atmospheric, dubby, steppy, dopehood!

In all seriousness, dubstep is rather decent. Although I don't see a real point in calling it a different name other then techno. It seems just like some louder sounding techno to me.
Also just my opinion, but a good amount of it sounds sort of the same. :\

My favorite one is probably Cragga's Please Mr Postman remix.

Yeah, because all electronic music is "techno"....

OT: There's some decent dubstep out there, not a big fan of the Skrillex type of Dubstep (what is sometimes known as "Brostep"), but there's is some really decent stuff out there.

Skream! For example, who invented Dubstep (sort of).

Or if you prefer something more akin to "modern" Dubstep, without going Skrillex, there's always this track from the album Transnational Dubstep [http://generationbass.com/2011/02/01/generation-bass-presents-transnational-dubstep-out-now-in-the-usa/]

I think it's rather nice.
It has apparently been catching on here in Norway. A number of my class seems to like it a lot. I don't think it's awesome though. It's nice, but I prefer other things

NEW? There's nothing new about it, it's been big in clubs for years. It's a genre of music, it has highs and lows.

Not a fan of Wubstep. Just sounds like machine noises and I don't really like it. I can't get into it.

Don't like it. Don't like it one bit. I hate to sound like a stereotypical old man complaining about this generation's music (which is ironically MY generation's music), but it literally just sounds like a bunch of noise, not music to me.
