So, is the TF2 clan going to actually be involved in scrims/clan wars, or is it just a friendly thing? I'd like to know.

As far as I know, and correct me if I'm wrong, the entire Escapist PC clan isn't as much a clan in the normal sense of scrims etc. as it is a way for Escapists with the same game to arrange friendly matches with each other. The Left 4 Dead league is a good example of this. I haven't seen a single person turned away from a team because they weren't "good enough", people just want to get together and have a fun match where they're less likely to have their sexual orientation repeatedly questioned.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I just ordered Dawn of War II (gogamer and your 28% off deals, I love you), so I'll be playing that soon.

Everyone's playing Empire: Total War on steam, and I hear the matchmaking uses steam. We don't need a group but I think we could all have some epic fights on it.

Now to just...you know...buy it.

I'd just like to point this out: Because I'm not omnipresent, and I see this as mainly a way for Escapists to get together and have a fun game, I've made announcements and events editable by any member on the CSS and UT (entire series) groups. That way, if anyone else wants to put forward a possible date for a game without having to act through me or Danny Ocean, they can.

When scheduling a game, try to take into account different time zones as much as possible (I understand that it's impossible to have a time perfect for everyone, but there's no reason to not try). Also, please don't abuse the announcement posting, or I'll need to change it to admin-only, which would be a major funkiller.

The whole avoiding delinquents bit isn't the main reason, it's just a side benefit. Sorry if my first post didn't make that clear. The main reason seems to be that playing with others from the Escapist community is generally very fun. The larger groups like the TF2 group and L4D group have enough people that it is practical to do tournaments if they wanted. Case in point: the L4D league. However, if what you're looking for is a clan that competes against other clans in things like CAL, or any similar formal events, you're probably not going to get it from this. Sorry if my orignal post emphasized different reasons from what I meant.
