Yes, you just go to the games list, click "Add non steam game", and find the link to the game's .exe. You can then rename it to whatever you want, you'll be shown as ingame, it will count towards your steam hours, and best of all, it gets the steam overlay.

Like UT3? I don't think so, but I'm not certain, as that's the one UT I don't have (other than 2003...). But yeah, the fact that it adds in an overlay has meant that I've added every single one of my games to my games list. In game chat and web browsing is awesome.

Edit: Oh, and for anyone interested in Empire Total War, I've just found out that gogamer.com has it on sale for $36 with free shipping for about 9 more hours. Unfortunately, I've already spent money on Dawn of War II this month, and I'm not exactly keen to spend even more.

And does anyone know if mods will still work with oblivion and Fallout 3?
Cause I heard some problems with mods and teh steam version of Fallout 3, so will it conflict at all?

I don't see why it should, because all you're really doing is telling steam to recognize the executable and run the game overlay at the same time. It doesn't move any of the game files around, because it's really just a more complicated shortcut. Because of this, if you want steam ingame, you'll need to run the game from your games list, not from a desktop icon. It's a few more clicks, but definitely worth it.

Nope, none at all. As Liver said it only makes it recognise the application and make it run steam. I did the same thing with F3, and it works fine for me!

O, you know. The mainly Blizzard classics. Diablo 2, Warcraft 3 w/ expansion, and Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun to name a few. I have Battlefield 1942 but the seconded disc is missing for some reason. A loan or something, I don't know. On the other hand, Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3 I still play online a good deal, but other then that I don't have many PC games that are good enough to warrent continued play and are online. I'm not saying their aren't any out there, I just don't have them.
