You're welcome. Even though I was resolved not to buy any more games, that sale was just too good, and I snapped. No new games for me until Q3 2009 (let's see how long I last with that one).

I just bought the TF2 and garry's mod package, I also joined the group on steam already, I'll be running these on minimum system requirement for a week or two before I can buy my new computer so I hope that isn't a problem.

You need steam to play the Orange Box or any other Valve games for that matter. We also use it for its groups so people can easily contact other Escapists with the same game. Steam is definitely worth the hard drive space.

Low settings are never a problem, even says so in the OP (Somewhere). Honestly, that thing is getting dusty. I should change the picture or something. You're all on your respective lists by the way.

You do indeed need Steam. It DOES take up space, but that's because all the games you install from valve or from the steam shop are stored in the steam directory. Don't ever delete it whole-sale. I tried moving it once and none of the games worked (Steam was looking in the wrong place.). It was easy to fix, but by gum it took a while.

As for finding fellow escapists, well, you'll need to take a look at your steam friends list. There's a subheading there for every group you join where you can view all the online members. Simply strike up a conversation with one of them and get into a game!

The deal was that it would remain stickied so long as I kept it updated. I guess I just didn't update the OP enough to fill the quota. We also havn't been having as many events in the new year as we did before. Doesn't really matter, you can move it to the top of your page by bookmarking it with the nifty forum feature.

Despite the game's far-from-perfect single player, FC2 (in my opinion) has excellent multiplayer and one of the best map editors and custom-map sharing systems of any game that I have played.

Go for it. Make the steam group and send me the link so I can hotlink the game heading in the OP. If you want me to make you a picture with the Escapist 'e' in it, or I can send it to you, just ask. I have to request though that you invite me and make me a group admin so I can post group announcements and people can access the groups from my profile.
