Just gonna come out with it: most of you are nerds.
And you aren't because...
Well, I'm sure it's no use convincing you I'm not...but, I'm just not. Sorry. I love games, love forums but nerd in the traditional sense I am not.
What I'm getting at is this: how do you even define what a "nerd" is supposed to be?
Most of us are already adults here so to see someone jump in here and call other people "nerds" is kinda silly, especially when he didn't even explain what "nerd" means, or how it relates to adulthood for that matter.
See what I mean?
Are you in highschool, or something similar? I could see how that silly notion would appear to work within your context, but you assume way too much of the rest of us, wouldn't you say?
Apparently the notion was clear enough for you to understand and get offended by it? Get over yourself. Nerd has a colloquial commonly accepted meaning and you were well aware of it when I first posted it. If you want to patronize me pick a more appropriate situation. No matter how old you are, you're never above social stigmas.
Offended? Dude, you said, and I quote: "Most of you are nerds," which to me sounds like something an actual "nerd" would say given that he is using the term himself, or at least someone who is familiar with them. It's not that hard to derive the meaning that the person writing it may
be a nerd and is trying to coax a reaction of someone. I mean, what am I
supposed to think?
And yes, it
is silly. Not everyone is your same culture, and not everyone has your same background to use the term; and even then, anyone can be called a "nerd" for pretty much about any possible reason you can think of.
I just assumed you actually had a definition for "nerd" and wouldn't mind explaining. I don't see how you can get testy b/c someone asked you whether or not you are in highschool or something similar.
