I played it today, you can actually get through the level without shooting the civilians. You eventually have to shoot at the russian authorities, but hey they shoot at you.

Honestly some one else should try it.

Just walk behind the lead guy and don't fire a single round, nothing happens, although its not real i felt quite proud of myself for not killing civies.

It's actually WORSE than the Mass Effect video: at least there they had a knowledgable person representing the gaming industry.
They learned their lesson from that one, getting a smart person in just made the entire Fox panel look (more) stupid and ignorant (than usual). So this time they really scraped the barrel.

Although I laughed my ass off in the MA interview when the guy asked if they'd played it. The half second of stunned silence before the no came out was gold.

Glad to see this topic getting solidified into another mega-thread.
LMAO "nothing stopping that 8 year becoming a terrorist and shooting people" omg i laughed at that so hard. SERIOUSLY? Most games involve killling why all the contraversy when you get to shoot up an air port, ive done worse things to civilians in other games.
They meant figuratively. As in, "There's nothing stopping that eight-year-old kid (from popping in the game disk), becoming a terrorist, and shooting people."

That's exactly what I did.

It even gave the end of the scene more context this way.

I did the same thing first play through, but really so many bodies. I felt a bit uneasy through the entire thing which was what i was suppose to feel I guess. Oh as for the context thing, not quite true -

Makarov shot you because Shepard probably tipped him off

Also the story wasn't bad as people say, it just wasn't told properly.

I really like the game, however I have one major issue.

Makarov I found, was a truly interesting villain he had a certain charisma about him, and unlike other skeletor-esque or Hitler type villains who are simply just power hungry bullet absorbers, Makarov had a certain sinister feel about him. Which is why I was disappointed he was barely put into the story.

Anyone else feel the SMGs are a little underpowered this time around?
I was thinking exactly this earlier today.

No one ever uses anything besides Assault Rifles and Sniper Rifles whenever I play. I try to mix it up with my RPD, but I eventually go back to my M4A1 due to the reliability.

Single player campaign is unforgettable. Game of the year, f*ck it, game of the DECADE. Adrenaline, shock and sadness in one package. Hollywood doesn't come close to this. Probably the best single player experience I've ever had.

Yes, it is a bit short, but every flaw is forgotten when you feel tears in your eyes at the end of Ranger's campaign.

Also, Fox really needs to shut the f*ck up. Seriously. "Nothing stopping a 8 year old becoming a terrorist and shooting people" I played that part of the video again to see if I heard right. It's so immensely absurd.

Oooh, I killed an innocent pile of pixels, I guess I'm a demented maniac now. Let's go shoot some children.

This mission is meant to give you motivation to capture the guy who's doing this. It shows you what terrorists really do, rather than "HERE BE TERRORISTS THEY R BAD."

What a bunch of morons.

I completely agree but he didn't die by the end of MW2, so he will probably be back!

Try the UMP. It's fairly powerful.

I give you something I said earlier because you didn't read it, apparently.

You seem to be a literalist if you can't see that they *might* be strapped on time and *might* just want to get the segment off. It was figurative.

I got annihalated by a guy with an RPD today, but he could have just been a good player.

I go between the SCAR H and M4, not really much need for anything else until I unlock my beloved AK.

The AK looks fuckin evil in MW2. In a good way.

Counter Strike was doing this before it was cool! I think Rainbow Six before that. By "this" I mean playing as a terrorist.

I only just realised there was a post credits museum mission.

How the hell do you kill that armoured guy?

Just finished the campaign last night and wanted moar. I loved the cinematic first-person scenes from the first one and MW2 brought them back even better than before. The battle scenes are also great from small team infiltrations to all out large scaled war.

I haven't started on Spec Ops yet but I have put around 7 hours into multiplayer and so far I like it. The only thing that can get unbalanced is the care packages with random killstreaks. It may be rare, but pull that random chopper-gunner after 3 kills with Hardline on is a bit unfair IMO.

How do you get that? I sat through the credits and nothing happened.

Go into the menu screen where you pick which mission you want to play, it's at the very end after 'Endgame'.

They don't tell you about it after the credits!

I wouldn't be surprised if not many people have found this extra mission yet.

Nor would I.
I'll have to try this later on.

Can anyone fill in a few of the plot holes for me here?

Who the hell is the VIP the Rangers and Ramirez are sent to rescue, why is he dead, and were the 'tattoos' they mention imply it was Makarov's men who killed him?

Did Shepard plan the whole thing or just decide to cover up Makarov's involvement so he could go after the Nationalists and avenge his 30,000 dead soldiers?

Those points really bother me.
