Ok so I've been playing dark souls for a couple days now,when I ran into my first invader.I was just a litte beyond the bonfire that is right after the bridge with the red dragon on it. I figured,ok I'm going to die now,that's fine.But after a few moments of staring at each other,he runs past me,I'm confused until I see that he shut the gate ahead of me,Before taunting and running off. (I did not know they could interact with my world like that...)Between that and all the jump off of cliff messages,I gotta wonder. How common is trolling like this?

Haha yeah, I remember running into this all the time in Demon's Souls.
And it happened quite frequently.
Strangely, it never bothered me too much. I mean how do I know? Maybe there is something down that ledge if I drop down.

What bewildered and frustrated me far more and ended up being the last straw was how overpowered players can enter your world and end you, and you don't have a single say in the matter.
Once again, this was in Demon's Souls so IDK, they may have fixed/changed this in Dark Souls.

I'm kind of the opposite of that guy if I'm invading someone in Anor Londo and I see that there are doors closed and I can't find the guy I'll usually take the time to open them creating shorcuts.
Really the safest thing to do is to stay undead, there really isn't any advantage to being human unless you want to kindle your bonfire.

OH MY GOD, Literally 10 minutes ago I had the most bullshit experience in PVP ever. Ok so I'm at township winning about 80% of my fights so I'm having a nice time. This spirit of vengeance invades me, there I am with my crestfallen warrior cospvp build so it's pretty weak compared to the guy who invaded me who has full Iron tarkus loadout with the Darkmoon blade buff on his weapon. It starts out easy as fuck, I parry him, 500-ish damage, he gets up takes another swing so I parry him AGAIN. Another 500-ish damage and his health bar isn't as close to being done as it normally would be on any other player so I knew he was high level but just REALLY fuckin bad.
THIRD parry, another 500-ish damage so that's around 1450-1600 damage I have dealt to this guy, victory is in sight and suddenly boom I'm dead from a lag backstab in 1 hit because his loadout is yet another max damage build that requires little to no skill. He then tells me to "GIT GUD SCRUB"..... I just ragequit as you could have already guessed... I don't mind losing normally but when it's to a 1 hit kill build it just makes my blood boil...

When they get close I do a quick gesture then they start to either bow or do that one that makes you look like a massive dickhead. Whilst they are gesturing I rush up and overhead swing at them with the Zweihander. I suggest you take up this anti invasion tactic also.

I actually invaded a guy recently and completely destroyed him, felt preety bad after it
