Yeah its not uncommon. Mostly you get greifers who are just using high level gear and pyromany on low soul level character so new players can't do shit to them but sometimes people get creative. Now I just find it funny when someone pulls off some creative D-Baggery (not the people who just exploit op gear though. I still dislike that.) but I've finished the game before so I'm not too pissed about losing progress.

Yeah, Tranquil Walk of Peace is broken, even with the shortened range and duration. The only way to really fix it is to stop you AND teammates from using any magic while it's on; otherwise, it just becomes "Use Tranquil Walk of Peace, get free hits if your opponent doesn't have some way of countering magic". It's even worse with Wrath of the Gods, because then you have an unblockable (Dead angled Wrath of the Gods, which is almost certainly a developer oversight) heavy-hitting magic that can't be rolled.

Magic itself is fine, but it's balanced by rolling or running up to you and interrupting it, and when you can stop people from rolling or moving quickly, magic stops being fair. I like Dark Souls, but its multiplayer is really broken.

I came across these video's showing off some of the "darker" and rather funnier sides of dark souls pvp. There both a bit too long for my tastes but theyll give you an idea of the wonderfull wonderfull world of dark souls multiplayer.

First vid is an invasion with two guys disguised as trees.

And this vid is the same girl trolling the guys at Sen's fortress. Having some leftover scarring from my first time at Sen's I rather feel sorry for the victims. ^^

I don't believe they ever patched the shortcut for the Duke's Archives. You can still do it on the latest version.

Oh, well if you say so. I was only going on what a friend had told me, and not wishing to try myself. That's great if you can, I appreciate places where you can escape the pre-defined rules of the game.
