I have to give credit to Robben for playing without his accustomed uniform:

Also Martins Indi should've been carded twice. Dutch coach knew there was no chance in hell he could play fair so he had him removed after recess before he could he carded a second time. Clever girl.

Phew, much less disturbing.
Took me a bit but I see what you/I did there :p
I'm probably the only one that saw but I did a double take before realizing what you actually meant. :)

I thought maybe Brazilian riots had taken a turn for the worst... <.<'

Remember kids!

About the final match on Sunday.

Germany has a great team, i.e. a great collective of football players that match each other's strengths and weaknesses. They're just that good. Argentina isn't as cohesive when it comes to just that. I think the team's strength is overreliant on Messi's golden boy brilliance and a few strikers & wingers like Higuaín and Di María. But Messi can't do wonders on his own, and our best forwards don't have very good replacements (speaking of which, Di María is apparently sitting the match out). I think the team is selectively excellent, but as a whole it's ineffectual. The defense isn't very good, and some of Sabella's go-to replacements downright suck. Last match against Holland I felt embarrassed for Demichelis and Palacio.

I reckon Germany has the better team and has a perfectly righteous claim to the WC title. Obviously I hope Argentina wins. And if they don't, oh well, it was a glorious run and I'm glad I was able to follow the team throughout the whole WC for once in my life. Here's hoping!

Gonna root for Brazil today. Not, because I'm German and it seems like I'm not allowed to be pro-Netherlands, but because of how I remember the 2006 WC in Germany.
Back then, Germany lost during semi-finals like Brazil did this week. But getting at least third place felt like being the champion. I guess, Germans celebrated their third place more than Italy its title.
Brazil's fans deserve to cheer at least over a third place. Most of them have proven to be good sports at losing after the match against Germany, they've put soul and heart into this cup.

But I don't know, which one of the two teams is actually the better one. Netherlands we saw against Spain? They would win with ease against Brazil. Robben, van Persie and Sneijder were a dangerous trio. But somehow the team lost its skill in the process of the WC.

As for tomorrow: I was only one year old, when Germany won '90. Therefore a victory would be awesome. On the one side Germany is the better team, but you never know. Maybe they have a bad day tomorrow or are too certain of victory and will lose in the end because of that.

Yeah, I feel bad for Brazil. This is a horrid start for a game and I don't have much hope for the rest of the game. I hope it doesn't get too ugly :/

Y'know...

!!

But yeah, I was hoping for a fairly even match, because while this Dutch team is good, I don't like how they've played from the knock-out stages...

Though the semis were the wake-up call that the Brazilian FA need to reorganise their youth system and how they build their national team, I hoped that they'd turn up for this and Scolari would be less stubborn in his use of tactics...

And someone please take Luiz off, he'll drown in his own tears if this continues... :/

While we're watching Brazil shit the bed yet again, let's all remember to root for glorious North Korea in the World Cup Final tomorrow after beating USA, China and Japan in the group stages.

Nevertheless though gogo NK I guess?

Who knows? in Germany we are in the finals tommorow...Argentina is aswell, maybe every country gets presented by the news that they are the champions at the moment. Queue that one Keanu Reeves 'whoa' pic, haha.

I keep hearing this chant in the streets: "Brazil, tell me what it feels like / to have your dad stay over..."

Me: Heh Brazil lost again. How was the buildup to the first goal? Was it like versus germany?
Friend: Dutch scored after a player got fouled and they converted a penalty into a goal.
Me: Who was it that went down? Robben?
Friend: Yes how did you know? o0 I thought you didn't watch the match.
Me: Big fucking surprise there.

I can only hope it was a genuine fall or else... Well or else it's a bloody farce by this point.

Joke in the Arg press about how Robben totally won an Oscar for his most recent "performance" (and left Leo DiCaprio Oscarless once again).

I love this. Maybe there should be an award(like a razzie) for the best dive of a season, marked on execution, flair, height gained. They could call that award the "Robben".

Ah, the final is upon us, this should be interesting. I'll be backing Germany, lets see if us Europeans can't hold onto the cup one way or another :)
