Gotta agree here. Even though the game had multiple challenging optional bosses, I still found the final boss in FF4 to be the hardest.

really? to be honest, i don't remember much of the optional final bosses, but i do remember playing the game so much that i could pick the 4 characters with the lowest attack and defeat the final boss by just pressing 'a' once every 5 seconds. maybe an exaggeration, but its just about right. But damn i remember the first time, it was so unfairly hard.

oh, i would like to mention that i did play the GBA version. i tried the DS version recently and actually found that it is noticably harder than i remembered

As for me, the final boss in Prototype and Super Mario World. Oh and the last boss in Jade Empire was a pain in the ass.

Well, over leveling does that in almost any RPG hehe The toughest optional bosses were all located in the final dungeon and guarded various legendary weapons. Some of them were difficult but most had a gimmick or pattern you could work around without too much difficulty once you figured it out.

Also in the original versions of the game you couldn't pick your team and had to use Cecil, Kain, Edge, Rosa and Rydia. I've never played the DS remake, but the GBA version did add the team selection ability to the final dungeon.

id say demons souls last boss was easyest boss ever...it doesnt even attack you and its a blob of mollasus looking goo that takes like 6 hits to kill...

But if you count the world 1-4 boss as the final one and that one as an impossible to lose fight the story changes

Generally hack and slashers avoid this though, they always come up with something brutal for the final boss.

Yup I can. The last Remnant, the final boss, if you completed all the side quests would be pretty much unstoppable, and could even stop you completing the game if you didn't grind correctly during the first 70+ hours.
