OT: mines a cute avatar of a monster hunter character wearing diablos armour (except the helmet of course) and weilding a long sword (I dont think any iron one actually has those spiked on top with this colouration so it is a general weapon I guess)
Well, I am a big fan of the Warhammer 40k novels (currently reading the new novel 'Salamander', and it's not half-bad), and of Space Marines (and Chaos Marines) in particular. I chose a simple Marine as my avatar, because as awesome as Terminators may be, Tactical squads are the most versatile and best at adapting to new situations during combat, which makes them the best in my book. ^^
As you probably guessed, I love Peanuts and Lucy is my favorite character from it. I just adore the series of strips where she leans on Schroeder's piano while he's trying to practice and has her very one-sided flirtation with him. They're usually hilarious. I chose this one because the text in it reads;
'If you really liked me, you'd say something nice to me'
And there's an inside joke attached to that personally... which has something to do with how I'm perceived on the Escapist. But that's for me to know, I'm not sharing that secret. An earlier one had Lucy saying to Snoopy;
'You think you're so smart'
Which I chose when I was a relatively new member and thought that just because I was new others didn't respect my opinion as much, so I thought it was funny to turn that back on them somewhat. Not that anyone would ever have gotten the joke, but I always enjoyed it.
I'm thinking of changing it to Sally screaming out something sometime in the near future, when I get sick of this one. That won't be for a little while, I still love my avatar. Oh, there'll be an inside joke attached to the next one as well... there always is.

I chose the original avatar(which was not animated) because it's a damn funny phrase, and I'd been reading a Dilbert book which said "Shave the whales."
"Nuke the whales" was the next step for me.
I was so happy when I found this image, and even happier when I was told it was a Simpsons reference.
Later, Fanboy animated it and created the marvelous creation which you see to your left.

Mine is Shas'o Kais. He was the field commander of the Tau army in Dark Crusade. I picked him just because I like his suit.
