Combat Arms. Probably one of the best MMOFPSs out there. Outstanding Graphics for a free-to-play and incredibly addicting.

Although Hackers are annoying but for me, its worth it.

Try Combat Arms. If you thought Modern Warfare 2 was bad you ain't seen nothin' yet.
Damn Ninja! I'll add you (Mines Nouw)
Yeah,I thought about these games, like Combat Arms,Operation 7,but they're not completely free, they still have item shops.
Yeah well all free-to-play games have an Item Shop like that.
I don't remember exactly, but in Operation 7 and a lot of these fpsmmo's you can buy better ammo at the cash shop, making the game unfair if you don't pay

Battelfield Heroes is free. It's pretty much a stylised and simplified verson of the battlefield games.

Though you'll sooner or later need to buy something for real money if you want to compete.
P.S: Your Avatar is in a whole new dimension of awesome.

On the main page of the site, top left, is the 'Games' tab. The bottom entry of this tab is called 'Essential Utilities' that contains various programs for your trouble-shooting needs. The best of these is DOSBox, most of your problems should clear up with that one program. Alternatively, there's a link in the bottom left of the main page to a site for free Windows games - a kind of sister site.

Looking at my games I founded another free game. VBS 2 Lite

http://www.jcove-lite.co.uk/index.php?pageid=download_jcovelite

It's a Lite version of VBS 2, War simulator used by Us Army.
So yeah, free military simulator, what are you waiting for?
I can't get it to download at all.

Pretty much every game here:

And I'm guessing Valve's Alien Swarm counts as well, though you need Steam to get it.

EDIT: OH, and how could I forget? Cleril's games are pretty good, if you're into RPG's, just send him a message if you want to try them out.

Nice gathering up the games into the original post - but would it be possible to have some categorisation or a one-liner of what the games are?

The list by itself isn't really that useful without any info or links to info/download pages.

Battleships Forever

Create your own ships as well as load other people's custom ships in a sandbox and fight, or you could just play the normal game.
