That would be Duke Nukem 3D and Quake (can't remember if it was 1 or 2). The first console we got was a Playstation, many years after my encounter with The Duke, and whoever you played in Quake, and then my gaming habits took a turn to platform-goodness with Crash Bandicoot and Spyro (<- very, very fond memories).

I first had a slew of Commodor C64 games, including:

*Toki
*Robocop 2
*The Shadow of the Beast (hell yeah!)
*Any number of Fun School and other edutainment programs
*The Last Warrior
*Dragon Breed

Ahhh, memories. After that, I had a Master System II, a Mega Drive, and an N64. All the time in between having varios levels of PC.

I'm 13, but I still played with the NES at first. It was probably Super Mario Bros, Dr. Mario, some football game, or one teenage mutant ninja turtles game, don't remember which.

After that I played Metal Slug 3, Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid on my second console, PS1. I actually played very little on my NES, but I played quite a bit with my PS1. MGS and FFVII give me so good memories, not as good as Kingdom Hearts does, but still.

Exactly the same for me, I must've completed Super Mario World a good few hundred times :D

Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Megadrive. Still love that game.
Join the club my friend, maybe we could have jackets!!!
Good idea - as long as it makes the distinction between that and the newer versions of it...
The less said the better.

You guys are making me feel old.
I fist strted gaming as a toddler on my uncles' atari, intellivision, and coleco machines. They were very patient with me but I learned how everything worked pretty quickly.

I didn't get my own system until the NES which came with gyromite and duck hunt. Got SMB when it came out.

Now I'm married & thankfully my wife likes to play too. We have a couple of DSs, a wii, a psp, ps2, and a ps3. Lately we've been playing Little big Planet, Saints Row 2, and Trauma Center 2.

My first game was Chex Quest for the PC. Some free outta the cereal box thing that was actually pretty fun. I was like 3 and hardly new what i was doing. It was also kinda scary for me because the enemys were litterly giant blobs of snot, gargaling and shooting god knows what at the hero guy.

For starters I'll say that I'm 24.

The first video game I can remember playing was Super Mario Bros., as I received an NES as an Easter Gift (of all things) when I was four or five.

Before that I may have played a few slightly more obscure PC games, though. Most of them pretty generic clones of other games.
Same here.

I did play pong on the Atari 2600 if that counts

I started gaming quite late in my childhood, think it was when I was about 7. First game I ever owned and loved was the original Crash Bandicoot for the Playstation :)

Some of us have been with games since the beginning, some of us have just began playing, regardless we all started with a certain game.

I'm 15, and have been playing games since I was 4. My first game (I can't remember the title), was a game made in the early 90's. I played it on my dad's old Apple II. It took place in a castle, where you play a character that has to solve a series of questions, to get around the castle. The questions ranged from sports to politics. I was very young, and I barely knew any of the answers, so I just spent my time clicking on random choices (A, B, C, D). Even so, I enjoyed it. If only I could remember the title, I want to start playing again..

Anyway, what was your first game?
That sounds like the quiz/game from Encarta '95.

Oh yes.

I hope nobody else got in before me, there's 5 pages of text up there that I can't be bothered to fine-toothed-comb through. Anyway. ;) The first game I can remember playing was probably Super Mario World on other people's Gameboys. On a home computer, it was that Encarta game and Pod, the king of racing games.

Really glad some people are mentioning the '80s...

Mine was Starglider on the Amstrad CPC. In full 3D, baby! A year later (1987) my dad bought an Amiga 500... and so the obsession began.

3 games simultaneously for the N64: Goldeneye, Starfox 64, and Mario kart. I had a good childhood, especially once I got Perfect Dark.
