Half Life 2. Oh god, so many rage quits
oh yes, i would have to agree with that. but one game that is even worse i would say is "Call me Skyfish." bought it on xbox for a dollar, played it once and then never again.

The only time I've ever cried at a videogame was when I conceded a goal from a free kick in the final minute of the final game of the season which cost me the league.

For me it would definitely be the Sega Genesis games

e.g.:
Dick Tracy
Desert Strike (1992)

Especially Desert Strike, that stuff got brutal sometimes :p
(not silver surfer brutal, but it was designed extremely well and was actually challenging due to good design and not bad programming)

Been there. I feel your pain.

OT: I lasted about 21 years without raging at a game. I'd played some tough ones, but all in all, I was pretty rational. Either walk away for a break, or calm down and keep trying, right?

One day... I met this creature.

That freaking Prinny game almost made me shatter the screen on my PSP out of sheer frustration. I think I got to the point where I didn't even enjoy it anymore, and I didn't feel I had to beat it because of "gamer cred." Just plain old frustration.

Contra on the NES comes to mind as it was the first game I ever played. But the rage really topped with Ninja Gaiden on the NES.

Believe it or not, Mario Kart Wii...

Those freaking blue shells ended what was left of my childhood.

Battletoads.

I had not discovered swearing yet at such an age, but I was doing some hardcore growling!

But then again it might have been Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES, never finished that game, was too angry.

Driver 2: Back On The Streets, that one mission in Havana where you have to stop 4 cars within 7 minutes. You had to time it perfectly and then you may actually win, because you could miss the impact of the last one and restart the mission again.

This. I don't know which was worse: defending a computer from enemies coming from all directions, or trying to sprint down a hill filled with enemies and being bombarded with artillery that wants nothing more than to bum-fuck the player character, who, by the way, dies anyway in the next cutscene.

Star wars, rebel assault. Old pc game, one of the most frustrating games at times, but very fun as well, i would play a small section, get stuck often because i hadnt read the controls, give up, then return a month later and beat that section, so frustrating but eventually so fulfilling.
