I, my girlfriend and every one of my friends are gamers. Why would anyone on here be a person who hides it? And the largest gaming demographic is girls aged 18-25.

I'm pretty young (I turn 19 in August) so playing video games is perfectly normal for my peers and I. But I still won't admit how many hours I've played dragon age. But then again anyone who looks at my gamertag can check my achievements and then will be able to tell it's a lot.

If you know me, you know I'm a gamer. I really don't hide it. Sometimes, this is good and other times, it's not.

I have a particular "friend" that bashes on me a lot for playing games and the funny thing is that she used to game too. I've met many friendly people and have had great conversations with them about games and characters (a couple debates too).

When I was on my school's newspaper staff, I remember there was this guy there (I forget why) and he noticed my Resident Evil STARS necklace. He went off on some rant to one of the other people on the staff about how sad it is that people waste their lives away playing video games and all that. I think he was just trying to get a rise out of me, but still. I wanted to punch him. -_- When he mentioned my necklace, I thought he was going to talk about how he liked it too (wouldn't you think so, if he recognized it?) but he ended up bashing it instead.
Anyways, I felt like it was a little related, so I thought I'd share. Hey, maybe he just hasn't come out of the gamer's closet yet. ^_~

Never had to hide my gaming from anyone. Heck, I wore a Halo: Reach shirt to school(note, this being the 8th grade with everyone thinking MW2 is the greatest game ever.)

I'm pretty open about it, though I don't go around announcing it, I was rather startled when 3 or 4 30+ year old friends of mine starting talking about Dynasty Warriors out of the blue and the Jujutsu Instructor was wearing a Dynasty Warriors T-shirt :D

Everyone I know knows I'll take games over the mall/Twilight any day. -shrug- And I proudly display my Aperture Science mug whenever there's company xD (it makes for a lot of conversation. I love that mug, even if the shipping cost more than the mug itself.)

Well I don't introduce myself as one, but I have used it in my tact. (actually worked better then you'd think.) I'd see why people wouldn't, but everyone now-a-days at least has a 360/PS3 and Cod 6: MW 2 or a Wii so it doesn't matter

I don't bring it up in conversation, but if someone talks about a game I'll over enthusiastically chime in and keep the topic on games.

Most of my friends play games just not in the way I do, they play Fifa/overly popular games whereas I play everything excessively.

I can't hide the fact I'm a gamer if anyone just walks into my room, there are piles of cases in every corner and every draw.

I don't proclaim it, or indeed even drop it in conversation very often. And I would refrain from mentioning it as something about myself when meeting a new person. But I'm not sure if that all stems from some kind of gamer shame for me. I think it's part of a greater self-consciousness that generally means I'm fairly vague and obscure when I talk about myself.

So I'm shy and modest, in short. And I like to control my self-image. Not trying to project lies though, but rather to hide the truth.

Can't say I've ever hidden the fact that I play video games. To be honest, most people who I'm friends with play games anyway, so there's never been a "closet" for me to come out of.

I don't talk about gaming with non-gamers. Nothing interesting they could possibly say about games.

No I have never hidden the fact that I play games. It also kinda hard to deny that you're a gamer when you are wearing a Legend of Zelda T-shirt with the words "Legend at work" on it.
