I'm in my late 20s - I know there were people who hid that they were gamers when I was younger, but I was never one of them.

I openly admitted I was a gamer, and didn't care if people thought I was a nerd or geek or whatever other insult they could come up with. I was introduced to gaming by a teenaged friend of the family before I started school - we played on his Sega Master System, and occasionally my parents let him take me out to the arcade (if they'd tagged along, they never would have let me play Mortal Kombat games when I was 10).

Gaming is a big part of my life, I would never hide that.
Although, being in my mid twenties it's much more socially accepted to be a gamer as opposed to someone being in their 40s. But I think this will change to. Not because gaming is evolving as an artform, but because more and more people grow up with gaming.
It's no longer this weird thing that some weird nerds do alone in a basement, but actually something that can occur in a party with alot of people. Signstar has done alot to help here.^^

the largest gaming demographic is girls aged 18-25.
Really? Where did you get this Information?
God dammit, I hate looking for things. *google* Ok new figures, consider me corrected a bit.

http://www.theesa.com/facts/pdfs/ESA_EF_2009.pdf

Page 2: The average game player age is: 35

Page 3: WOMEN age 18 or older represent a significantly greater portion of the game-playing population (34%) than boys age 17 or younger (18%).

Page 4: PARENTS* AND GAMES 92% of the time parents are present at the time games are purchased or rented.

Kinda puts all the "think of the children" bullshit in perspective.

well if you mean literally go around and tell everyone i game, then no, thats annoying as fuck and im not going to be that elitist douchebag telling everyone about myself

however, i have not once denied i play games and frequently talk with friends about what games we like or are excited about up and coming.

i've never cared if someone games or not, i dont judge them for it and people dont judge me for it either, so dont care really

I usually bring gaming up in conversation, especially at school. Heck, I even bring it up with my girlfriend who hates my Xbox!

Everyone I know knows that I love games. Doesn't come up in conversation much but there are plenty of other things to talk about besides games and I know that a lot of it wont interest other people in the slightest.

Saying that I don't play video games is just like answering no in a 'do you masturbate' poll.
