I havent predescribed you. I said what I said based on what you have said in response to me, How much aggressive focus you have applied to retort me, What I have seen you say in the past on this topic in other threads, and the fact that you dug out one nugget and portrayed it out of context in order to justify the initial quote that started this whole exchange.

Remember, you took my statement on how the media focuses on worst case examples, which was my only point, and twisted it around expecting an explanation as to what is a logical basis against homosexuality.

And more to the point, even though I refuse to be goaded into defending positions I dont hold your still looking for a fight by dissection quoting me anyway.

Look the problem here as is the case in many topics of discussion, People cannot separate fact from opinion. Simply put that on all sides of the homosexuality argument there is an over abundance of opinion, and a massive shortage on fact that gets expressed. Were all entitled to opinions, none no more or less valid than the other, but they are still opinions just the same.

You do bring up a valid point, Im not trying to argue with you. I have said what I intended, I have tried to clarify my position but thats about the only horse I have in this race, so continuing to speak on it is wasting discussion. I cant change your mind, especially on a position I dont even hold myself, nor would I try.

These nosey bitches should worry less about the example being set by a fictional comic book character and more about the example they're setting for their own children. Homosexuality has been around longer than our society itself, and no ammount of pissing and moaning is gonna change that. What a fruitless fight.

Well, you're never going to please everyone. Especially a bunch of bigoted American mothers.

I mean, I could ***** about how terrible they are, but you gotta realise, were all better than them.

Plus, fact of the matter is, 20 years from now, a bunch of you will try to stiffle the rights of Hermaphrodites.

You claimed it was a one-sided deal and they failed to cover the rational opposition. I asked you to demonstrate such opposition and you went "NUH UH, YOU'RE TOO CLOSED MINDED BECAUSE CIRCULAR LOGIC!"

Please keep that in mind, as you're complaining about me. It's a simple question which you will not answer. Likely, because you know it is false equivalence.

I would have no problem if DC comics had just said "Alan Scott is gay". I wouldn't have complained once. But they didn't do the reasonable thing did they? They went out of their way to say "Hey guys! We're gonna have a gay character! Aren't we progressive and with the times?". They did this for no reason than to get publicity, and it freaking worked. Because people will dismiss you as a bigot if you complain about anything involving homosexuals.

the world needs more of these people. we dont have enough groups that are clearly trying to be super villians in real life
I really hope that, as they pussed out and took down their Facebook page [http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2012/06/one-million-moms-drops-off-facebook-after-green-lantern-post-backfires/], they all shook their fists dramatically and bellowed "We'll get you next time, gays! Next time!" a la Dr. Claw.

Soo... awesome gay stuff turns you gay?
Somebody hide Stephen Fry!

He will turn everybody gay!

But for serious OMM needs to go away. What a terrible message to be teaching your children.
Wait, Stephen Fry's gay? Huh, learn something new everyday I suppose.

Y'know what, we should have more gay people.

That way it will become an accepted norm and then we'll have fewer idiots like OMM to deal with.

Look. I havent complained about you breaking the forum rules and trying to goad me into explaining this. Honestly its pretty obvious where the valid arguments can be made. As I said, If you actually mean what you suggest that information is abundantly and readily available for you to find. The only way you can not find that information is if you saw it and dismissed the point as invalid

But this is a waste of time. A fact I figured you also accepted when the thread essentially fell to obscurity for three days. Then after a day and a half of silence, after saying the exact same thing of which I had already responded to, you necro'd the thread out of boredom trying to goad me into justifying a position I have already explained I Dont have and If you really wanted those legitimate reasons they are available to look up. However, I do get it. It is just not as satisfying when that special moment comes when

and you have to read pre written responses rather than to someone who might communicate back with you in order to actually look for those answers.

Anyway. Im not going to be goaded into this. Hell these valid points have been explained before and again if you want to look them up, your more than welcome to. But Im not going to waste more time and effort on it because nothing I say will ever change your mind no matter how many valid points your provided because you refuse to see points you disagree with can still be valid points.

TL;DR: In short if you can say you have looked and there ARE no valid points that can be made then you have dismissed the valid points and judged them as invalid.

(SN: this wasnt actually how I wanted to word it. I had written a post of similar length and content, but worded much better. However, for some reason the forum ate it, and honestly its 4am here and too wore out to try to refine the post to get it back to its exact former state, so wordings might be a little off due to fatigue but the point IS there.)

Was the character said to be straight before or did everyone assume he was?
How many times do I have to tell people. THE WHOLE UNIVERSE HIT THE REBOOT BUTTON AND THEN THE NEW FILE BUTTON, NO CHARACTER HAS A BACK-STORY FROM BEFORE SAID REBOOT!

But to answer your question, this character was married and had a daughter earlier, and yes that daughter is genetic and he was married to a woman.

OMM your so full of bigoted bitches I could just snuggle you all to death.

I'm asking you to give examples of a point you yourself made. If you think I have broken any rules, report me and move on. I stand by my sentiments and do not see what rules I have broken. I am simply trying to get you to back up your own claim, which justifies the existence of a rational opposition. That's all you have to do. You keep using logical and informal fallacies instead of a straight answer.

Let me make it clear:

-You made an argument.
-I asked you to demonstrate it.
-You refused.

That's it. Now:

-You are validating an opposition to homosexuals.
-Whether you hold it yourself is irrelevant.

Really, that's all there is to it.

Please explain the part here that is unreasonable. Is it where I ask for you to prove your claims?

No.

I wont report you even though you persist.

I have already explained what this is.

Your trying to pick a fight yet again, and I know exactly why. Its because the other thread your trying to impose your view point on is not fighting back with you so you again after days necro a dead thread because your bored and want to fight this fight.. I just watched this happen. And I will not give you fodder for you to claim false based on subjective opinion.

You would have better luck in the other thread. I see what your doing and Im not compelled to play the game your trying to play.

Just to back up my statement.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but no one is entitled to attack others for sharing, or not sharing, that opinion. If you can't communicate without using combative, aggressive, or demeaning language, then please keep those comments to yourself,
You have shown the aggression in the "quick response" the first time. in agitation at someone not playing your game the second, and displaced aggression when someone else stopped playing your game, you came back here to see if you could pick this fight again in this one..

I wish you the best, and good luck in finding someone else to pick this fight with because its not going to be with me.
