Why hasn't anyone talked about the most metal soundtrack in video game history (Until Brutal Legend came along):

And in my opinion the most emotional soundtrack in gaming history:

There was also this, piece of musical perfection:

And need we forget about this atmospheric music:

I would like to put forth the entirety of the Mass Effect OSTs, all three games, every track. Simply fantastic. Jack Wall and Sam Hulick did an incredible job. I think the scores make the games more than any other element.

My favorites are:
Mass Effect 1

And ME2

And ME3

I am disappointed by the lack of Neverhood in this thread.
Much better.

EDIT: How the hell did I also forget the Crash Twinsanity soundtrack? Bad me.

Well, me from 2014 could explain my answer for me...

Basically, any soundtrack from the Tales series becomes one of my favorites, with Symphonia, Abyss, Vesperia, and Xillia taking the top spot of my usual go-to in that department...

Other than that, all the Persona soundtracks released after Persona 3 are basically instant-buys alongside the Tales series soundtracks and the Kingdom Hearts soundtracks...

If I had to choose one that I like the music more than the games themselves (for some reason), that honor goes to the DJ Max Portable original soundtrack... (Also, I refuse to play the "international version" of that game, but that's another story in and of itself at this point...)
Thanks, me...

Other than that... well... I'll just let past 2015 me take over from here...

Still gonna have to give it my favorite game series Kingdom Hearts... I mean...
Basically, the entire series's original soundtrack is one of my favorite pieces of videogame music, broken into various sections that evoke different emotions depending on the situation in general...

First off, a collection of similar melodies spanded across multiple games of the same series:

Ninja Note: Not the original YouTube link...
And now for some full OSTs:
Yep... I think I covered my favorites that haven't already been covered in some way, shape or form...
Thanks me...
Man... I really got to stop ninjaing myself...

Anyway, me, myself, and I have listed some of our favorites already... Too bad I can't link the OST to NotGTAV outside of where you could buy it... I can still link to the soundtrack to Lethal League, though:

Yep, have to agree with the Halo games. I was a huge fan of the franchise when Bungie was still at the helm, and I'd say Martin O'Donnell's music was as integral to the series' success as John Williams was for Star Wars. Bungie really shot themselves in the foot when they fired him. "Tip of the Spear" from Halo: Reach is one of my personal favorites.
Ah yes, I should've mentioned that the OST for Halo 4 and 5 didn't do it for me, they feel almost like completely different games compared to the original trilogy/Reach.

I stopped being a Bungie fan after that, Destiny didn't make me regret that.

I like a lot of the classics. The old Sonic soundtracks, lots of old Nintendo stuff, the usual indie stand-outs like FTL, Risk of Rain, Bastion, Dustforce, pretty much all of the Danny B music from Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac etc.

That said I think I'll highlight the music from possibly a slightly lesser known game: Intrusion 2.

Just a really nice quality rock soundtrack that really added to the incredible action of the game.

I've always been partial to Einh?nder's soundtrack. All of the tracks meshed very well with the action that was taking place on screen.

Bastion and Transistor have great OSTs. Transistor especially. Plus they give you your own button for the player character to stop, have their own personal magic spotlight illuminate them while they hum hauntingly along with whichever background track is currently playing. It was my favourite button. Oh what times we had. Not the first time though, not in combat. Not a great introduction to each other.

Perfect Dark. More the N64 version. but they're both still high up.

Some zelda tracks from the 3D games are very pleasant to play, the song of storms is quite a fun one for imrprov. Mean to learn the witch sisters tune at some point if i can find it online, it has been on the to-do list.

I've just finished Undertale and I loved hearing this song at the end, I want to hear a full Orchestra playing it starting off with just a few instruments then by the end have everyone just blasting it out I think that would be amazing. I haven't been able to find that though so here's the standard version which was still good enough to get my hands off the key board and tapping along to the beat.

Both of these * 1,000,000. I'm also going to throw in Spider Dance [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ3XjVVNagU], because that's my ringtone.

Other game OSTs:

[ul]
[li]Any song from BattleBlock Theater, but in particular Mr. Finale [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUW6SuHPYwo], which is my alarm tone. Special mention to Secret Stage [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T37eZ55Hcmc].[/li]
[li]The Moon [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMOwW7rO8fM] from DuckTales Remastered. Because that song was awesome anyway, and then they topped it off with an orchestral version.[/li]

Seriously though, I love Undertale's soundtrack. In addition to the above, these pieces tend to get to me:

Normally, I don't really care much for music in Video Games. I rarely focus on the music as I'm too busy either playing the game or watching others play it to notice. However, there are a couple of tracks from certain games I've played or seen that I do enjoy very much.

Yea I'm pretty big on video game soundtracks. So enjoy whatever you choose brothers and sisters.

And the last one popped up randomly. Figured I add it as well to spread the joy of video game soundtracks of old and new.

I don't know, but you should feel emense shame until you have listened through the whole soundtrack. At least once. Though more times is acceptable as it is an awesome soundtrack. That reminds me that I need to see if the Armnicrog soundtrack has been posted anywhere yet.

Bram Stoker's Dracula on the SNES has a far better soundtrack than the otherwise mediocre Castlevania-style platformer deserves:

Since i'm stuck in a huge BlazBlue hype fiesta, I have to post some OSTs.

I hate how they practically ruined the Mu-12 I knew and loved in Chronophantasma compared to Continuum Shift but her music is so perfect. Her combos are completely different and her play is more rushdown focused (neutered Sword of Decimation, down C doesn't jump cancel anymore, her guns don't have fullscreen range and they added Sword of Infinity, a move that dashes you straight behind your opponent.) Probably because both Nu-13 and Lambda-11 are both in this one and they take the space of annoying zone control characters so they wanted the final Murokumo Unit to be different. That's my theory anyway.

Obviously a dark song fit for a character whose sole purpose in life is to destroy the entire world.

A more hopeful song practically devoid of the deep bass present in the first one but the lyrics are word for word the same. Apparently they sing about destroying the world if Youtube comments can be believed so some maybe lyrical dissonance there but you could explain it as her power level is the same if not higher in Chronophantasma since she still wields the Sword of the Godslayer. She now just doesn't want too.

Then there's this one that has no deeper meaning but it's pure Hype in musical form.

Hype fuckin' Fiesta boys.
Well from what I heard, Mu-12 got a new move where she has the drones shoot forward after they have fired the laser so Pressure is returning to her

As for my OST: well, I'm on a Blazblue hype train so here are three of my favorites, including one from Central Fiction:

I've recently been completely obsessed with Undertale music, but thats been mentioned many times before already.
I'm not a composer or musician of any kind, but I absolutely love it when OSTs re-use songs in various ways and keep the score whilst also completely transforming the song. Undertale does this so much, the 100 track soundtrack based around a 15 or so songs.
Pokemon has some really good music in my opinion and was the last time I saw this executed really well.

Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby's remixes were fantastic, but my favourite theme itself comes from variants of entirely new track for the rival Wally.

The first shows off his personality pf being shy and timid rather well, and he has somewhat of a reputation among fandom of being one of the weakest rivals in the series.

In the remakes he eventually becomes one of the strongest opponents in the history of the series, being the trainer with the third highest levels amongst the entire series and arguably having the best team used by any trainer ever. This journey for him truly begins in the rematch in victory road, where he vows to become the strongest he can be and to defeat you, the battle being complimented by a metal remix of his character theme.

Nah right now there's only one character I play, the one and only tippity top tier Terumi whose mixup game is so good it doesn't even need a standing overhead! Wow!

[sub][sub]Oh wait that's not how it works and he's the worst character in the game... Standing C looks like an overhead for god's sake, why is it not? Central Fiction buffs now pls[/sub][/sub]

He's so much fun but after you realise his entire ground pressure is fuckin' low hits it's 100 times harder for him. His Drive is actually the most fun I have had in a fighting game and at least Terumi feels like Terumi. Use two supers comboing together, do one 3 hit combo and super again. It's like i'm playing UMVC3 all over again.
