Kishima waited for the reply.

"Ryan" replied the voice.

Kishima was unsure if this was the same Ryan that patched him up so he stepped from behind the wall, and indeed Ryan was there half asleep on the chair.

"Damn it, Ryan" Kishima said, "I was almost ready to stab someone to death."

The Black Nail thought for a moment, considering the new information.

?Any input on this Baltreth??

?I remember the Rhyle. Abominations and monstrosities. Shells empty of their once great majesty. Reduced to the playthings of mortals and degenerates. I pity them. I have no love for the Rhyle that Lady Anastasia does, and should you wish their annihilation, I will support you until their bodies are dust in the void.?

Sinclair?s face turned curious. ?That sounds a lot more vicious and arrogant than I?d thought you?d be. Phaedra brush off of you hmm??

Baltreth snorted.

?Hardly. As corrosive as Phaedra is, he?s right. We Illrians are above you mortals. I am an ancient being Sinclair, one of the First Angels, the Angel of Lethargy to be precise. The Rhyle have taken our brethren, ripped their minds and souls from them and used their rotting corpses to power them. They deserve no mercy from me.?

Sinclair smiled slightly. ?I seem to recall that the Rhyle don't see it that way. They say that they found the angels dead already, and they merely took their powers for their own against the Dark. All things considered, I'd agree it to being an effective move. Recycling, in it's own way.?

?That would be your opinion, and only due to the fact that you are my Partner does your opinion remain yours. In truth, some of my brethren do not see as I do, while others do as well. It is a curious thing, but regardless, they are still abominations. Still lesser than we. We are greater than them, our minds and souls intact. We know that. They know that. Thus power makes right, thus they are lesser than us. Our servants and helpers who would assist us.

Sinclair smiled fully now. "That's indeed, an interesting way of thinking. To be expected of something as ancient as you.." he said, as he snapped his fingers. The communications circle flared to life, complete as he set the flame ablaze, sapphire fire turning into a humanoid shape that smiled rather smugly.

?Ah. Come by to check up on us I see.

Sinclair snorted. ?Hush you. What?s the status??

?At the moment? Johnson?s cabal has been silent lately. No idea what?s been happening but our contacts are still silent over it. We?ve been trying to get to them but as of the moment we have no word on that. We checked up some leads on the Red Star but as it turns out, that gulag you wanted us to check on mysteriously burnt to ash from hellfire. The soviets are furious.? Kessler smirked ?I don?t suppose you have anything to do with that??

?Quite possibly not.? the Black Nail said with a straight face. ?Have they come to us for answers??

?In a manner of speaking. We know they?re investigating multiple sources, and they believe aspects of the Guild to have taken part in the massacre. They?re going to ask, that?s for sure, but not yet.?

Sinclair narrowed his eyes and thought for a moment.

?Alright. When?s the next meeting with the soviets??

?A Union representative backed with Red Star commissars are going to negotiate on the assassination of several democratic leaders in south east asia 10 hours from now. What are you thinking??

?I?m thinking that you should get Commissar Slovak to come in with them.?

?That old nut? What for??

?I?m plotting something stupid.? Sinclair teased his friend ?A play, if you will. Five factors, including us and the Knighthood, and I need at least one player per factor to get things ready.?

His good natured laugh wasn?t enough to get Kessler into a festive mood however. ?Five factors? Seriously??
Sinclair nodded. ?Probably. The Illrian Knighthood. The Thaumaturgy Guild. The Order of the Black Rose. The Rhyle. The Order of the Red Star. It?s actually coming together quite nicely in my head, do you want me to enlighten you??

?Oh no, no, no, no no!? Kessler said. ?I don?t want that on my head now! Just tell me what you need and I?ll get it yes??

The Black Nail smirked. ?Yes well, I?ll need some things. I?ll want a team, no more than three, to meet us by the Point Aleph in Auschwitz. I?ll want them carrying my infiltration gear, and I want them prepped for information gathering and covert ops. Take note that I?ll be bringing an un-introduced aspect, a Rhyle Imperiomancer, and I don?t want him to panic the moment he sees any of you.?

?So freshies, but not TOO fresh. Got it. Anything else??

?I?ll need an additional two teams as well. One will meet up with us 2 kilometers away eastwards should a quiet infiltration work, and 12 kilometers away northwards should it be messy. Worse comes to worse, I want them to meet me by the coast of Norway if things go REALLY out of hand somehow. In my office, underneath my desk is a hollowed out section of the wall. Break it in, and there should be a package containing several of my belongings. I want you to give it to that team to hand it to me once I?m done with my task.?

?Alright.? Kessler said, not even batting an eyelash. ?What?ll the second team do??
?There?ll be more than three groups from the three most powerful organizations in Europe in that town if my guess is right. There?s the possibility things will go sour, and we might have to torch the entire village to oblivion if necessary.?

His friend raised his eyebrow at that. ?I thought you were going to keep the Rhyle alive??

Sinclair nodded. ?Yes. But with both the Red Star and the Black Rose in the same area, I can?t promise that the land around it will still be in the same dimension should they both get uppity.?

Kessler scoffed as his burning apparition began to dissipate. ?Right. Gotcha. Do you want anything else??
Sinclair nodded. ?When you speak to good old Slovak, tell him that I?m cashing in on one of my debts. This would make us even. Specifically, the Kazakhstan debt.?

Sinclair?s wicked smile followed Kessler to the real world as the connection closed.

Sorry for late post, I was creating some characters and thinking up the plot for the soon to be infamous Auschwitz Incident.
Also, could someone tell me where Poland is politically? Is it still under the Germans, or is it independent? Or under Soviet rule?

The next day, Nathan, Ana and Kin left early in the morning. They left detailed instructions to the remaining Illrians to go to Cairo, South Africa and Geneva. In a safe house in Cairo, hopefully unguarded, there would be more pages.

Geneva on the other hand would be the most treacherous. Rhyle on both sides of the great dispute of current times were there, right under the nose of the Preator. In the clock tower of the main building of Marks and Marks Bank was hidden a small hollow section of wall with a box full of journal pages.

In south Africa, Baron Samedi closely guarded the last of the pages. While he was not inherently hostile, he would require some convincing. The old man was after all mad as a dog and gave his little bits of sane attention to few.

Just moving things along, remember, this is kinda a sandbox mode, feel free to make up whatever you want about the locations, and choose who goes where however you like. I can sort of GM this part for you all as a narrative presence if you guys want.

Sam left his room yawning and with ruffled hair. He had overslept. He searched for the others but noone was there anymore. "Hello?!" He waited a few seconds. No answer.

[font color="grey"]Those assholes ditched us again!

Samuel saw a single dossier on a table. "I don't think so."
He sat down and started to read.
"We're going to South Africa."

[font color="grey"]Oh great. How is it?
Dendra didn't sound very enthusiastic.

"Worth a visit."

[font color="grey"]... That's not answering my question....

Sam grinned. "I know."
He headed back to his room and packed his things, including the souvenir he took from the gulag, a Tokarev TT-33.
I hope this will turn out more useful than my tanto...
He left.

"I was almost ready to stab someone to death."

"What, why?.." he began walking towards Kishima "Nevermind, how long have you been up?"

"Nevermind, how long have you been up?"

Kishima withdrew his blades and walked toward Ryan.

"I got up around 10 minutes ago. As I saw that I was in a different place than last time, I assumed that maybe I got captured and nursed back to health just so they could squeeze information out of me, that's why I was jumpy. Still thanks for dragging my unconscious ass out of there and patching me up." Kishima extended a hand.

<font color=green> Yes, so you thank him but not me for keeping you alive huh ?

We both know you wouldn't let me die. You love me too much for that am I right?

<font color=green> If I could kick you out of this body I would, trust me.

"But I guess we still have business to attend to, right?"

"But I guess we still have business to attend to, right?"

Ryan extended his hand and shook Kishima's.

"Yeah, apparently Ana needs some documents from America... I haven't read through much of the dossier yet anyway."

With his left hand he handed Kishima the envelope.

"We have some time before we need to head out so I'm gonna sleep now, oh and you're welcome."

He stumbled off to his room and went unconscious on his bed.

Huss is GM for this portion of Chapter One. At it's conclusion the Chapter will end and a new one will begin in two days to give us a break to collect our thoughts before continuing.

Kishima sat down in the chair that Ryan fell asleep in. Hmm, I wonder what's is ? Kishima thought while looking at the envelope. He opened it slowly. Oh this is interesting. Inside the envelope there was the location of what seemed like a strongbox, but also other locations circled on maps with the word 'Rhyle' and 'Weapon Cache'.

Kishima put the papers back into the envelope and stashed the enveloped under his chair. He decided that he'd wait until Ryan was back up so he could hear the full story before deciding on what to do next.

"So, any ideas?"

Kishima woke up and gave a long yawn. He looked up at Ryan who seemed eager to get going.

"Well, good morning to you too." he said in a sleepy tone.

<font color=green> Wake up, you idiot. You were in a coma for sometime, so how much rest could you possible need?

"Well, I looked inside the envelope..." Kishima said while retrieving the envelope from underneath the chair and taking out a map, "...and I found this. It shows something about a safebox, strongbox, whatever. It also has the location of Rhyle bases and weapon cashes marked all over the city. That's where I stopped looking and waited for you to wake up and tell me the whole story, but I guess we can do that while we are on our way to..." he scanned the map, "Detroit?"

"Let's go."

Really sorry Ryan about this but I have to get up tomorrow at 7 to go to work and I need at least 5 hours of sleep, so could you please fill in the journey there and then I'll pick it up tomorrow afternoon.

To all of you who care about fluff and the side-stories of Silas kind of doing his leadership stuff there's another one coming. Prepare to see a side of Silas you may not understand at first but bear with me.

sorry about the delay I was ill, sorry about the shortness I am ill

Ryan looked at Kishima "Ok, grab your gear then." he made his clothes shift their colours to grey and walked off.
~~~ An hour later ~~~
"I found a quiet way in."
~~~ A week later ~~~
Their ship docked and they found themselves in Detroit.

Kishima followed Ryan off the ship. It was a long journey, so long in fact that he had stopped counting time by the first week at sea. He was glad to be finally on firm ground again as the rocky ship made him throw up overboard a couple of times. Ryan had stopped to look at the documents that they had received in the letter.

Taking this opportunity, Kishima sat down on a nearby bench and looked at the huge city that stretched before him. We are meant to find a book written by that powerhouse Kin, which apparently is of paramount importance due to something about it being able to destroy the Destroyer. Then we have to find some strongbox with God knows what inside it. We also have to do all this with limited support and with some power hungry maniacs after us in a city we don't even know! thought Kishima.

However Ferous could not take any more of Kishima's complaining.

<font color=green> What the hell is wrong with you? You act like you haven't gone through worst stuff before. How about when your wife got killed hmm? Or when you escaped from that "school"? Also, remember that time when your father got lynched by the mob? You went through harder things than this and you did not complain as much! Gods, it's really annoying to listen to you complaining to yourself all the time. 'Oh my feet hurt', 'I can't do this', 'Move, I'm gonna be sick'. You make me sick Kishima. You should really learn how to just deal with things like this!" Ferous calmed down. <font color=green> "Besides you have those Rhyle here to help you. Things won't be that hard, and plus you can always use my power."

Kishima was furious. Tears started pouring down his face as he remembered his father and wife and how he could not helped them. How he ran. Wiping his tears away from his eyes he looked at the sky. Maybe you're right. Thanks, I think I needed that. But that was the last time. You mention anything about my family ever again and I swear to God, I will run myself through with my sword just to make sure we are both dead. Understood ?

<font color=green> "Of course. I am sorry, I didn't mean to bring them up but I just couldn't take seeing you whining so much when we both know you've been through worst."

Kishima stood up. Good and thanks. He walked towards Ryan who was still studying the documents. Putting on his cheerful voice again he asked, "So any idea where were heading first ?"

I'm back and I have enough free time to fully develop this now. Oh and by the way the bloody captcha is freaking me out again. This one was "play again". This captcha really is sentient I'm telling you. EDIT: The "play again" captcha failed and the one I got now is "I SAW THAT". It's gonna get me.

It was quiet outside the Monolith. Its glossy blackness a testament to the raw power of the Illrians. Out of it yawned a great opening through ranks upon ranks of Illrians stood in full battle regalia. At their head were Veil Dragons and riding them were Illrians with silver crowns and their armor bejeweled and carrying banners. Silas stood among them at the reigns of his horse, and the High Lord of the Maledictum was on the back of a dragon which pawed the earth unused to its solidness.
"You have one last chance to revoke your permission, Silas." said the High Lord but Silas shook his head "The Destroyer has showed its hand, it would be foolish to allow even one Omen to come to pass. We must make our move and show these heretics there is no mercy for those who turn aside from the Light."
The High Lord nodded and the army began marching out, a slow and methodical march winding inevitably to the highest stronghold of the Rhyle. With traitors in their ranks, Silas had made a final call. To root out the heretics, they would force their hand by declaring a siege upon them. To draw their eyes to them while the Knighthood worked behind the scenes to tear the dissidents down. Silas had no remorse for killing those who swore themselves to the enemy of all that was good, but the Rhyle were his closest allies...and they would not take well to a total invasion.

Your plan is equal parts mad and genius, Silas. Marching to the Black Gates of Mordor to draw Sauron's eye.
I thought you didn't like those books.
Yes but some parts still stick in my mind. The Rhyle will feel betrayed.
Let them, betrayers must be eliminated

Anthiel was a creature of war. Too inhuman to blend into society by any means, it was dispatched to Geneva less as a diplomat, spy, or similar agent, and more as 'assurance' in the event that things went wrong.

Things usually go wrong, so something so capable as it would be well-placed.

Its return after the events in Russia was less than exciting. It kept to itself. What warped horror wouldn't? And now the sleek, ivory abomination was waiting on a rooftop outside the Bank in Geneva, watching its entrance.

It could advance on the clock tower. That would, however, attract ill attention. It would wait until cover of night.

A private charter pilot gave Ana, Nicholaus and Nathan safe passage to China. Whispers of chaos through the Rhyle caught their ears as they traveled. But they remained focused on the task at hand.

Nathan and Kin sat on the plane sharing a meal.

"So where are you from?" Kin asked, curious as to Nathans background.
"Louisiana."
"America eh?"
"Yeah" Nathan smiled, proceeding to ask a question he already knew the answer to "What about you?"
"Cairo, I think... Mom and Dad werent locals though.." Kin struggled to remember. It was as if most of his life had vanished.

In the back of the aircraft, Anastasia sat, motionless. Part of her was still in shock, though why she couldnt tell. She had prepared herself for this, the event that Kin stopped being Kin. But it shook her to her core. She wasn sure which held more disbelief, the amount of punishment that man received, or the fact he survived it all. But there was a trade off. The sacrifice of the mind.

She knew the place they were headed. The Palace of the innocents. Home to a seclusive group of monks who shared an uncommon bond. They were unlike any other magic users known, it wasnt something they were born with, but something they had to create all their own and couldn't be traded, bought or sold like thurmaturgy. Similar though, to imperiomancy, it was a strength of the will. While they were skeptic of most outsiders, Kin had developed a deep bond with them, studying under them and even teaching some of them in return. It was where he learned Muy Thai and Wing Chun, as well as the unusually potent imperiomancy he commanded. This is where they would begin to rebuild him. At the start....

Miles away, a splinter cell, a cypher of sorts, was working his way through the Rhyle, working against the Praetor, working on someone else s orders...
