Tetsuya relunctantly signed with the company under his nickname Cyber-1.
"Don't worry Scott..." Tetsuya smiled, "Feeling's mutual."
Tetsuya wait impatiently fot the prick to give the orders.

"Well, first let me say, thank you all for agreeing," Sera said scooping up the contracts and putting them in a pneumatic tube. "I suppose I should start with a question. What do you know about my company? About Yanser?"

"All I know is that you've got good taste if you chose me," Tetsuya said sharply.
"The company ain't nearly doing good as the other one. I'm just trying to find out why they ain't paying me."

"In time Master Tetsuya, in time. However, I'll take that as that you know little more than the quarterly press releases we give, so allow me to speak of my company. As I'm sure you know, Artech has been in control of City Gamma for 30 years now, with no signs of losing it's grasp on its market or its territory, however they are hidding something, we are their market nowadays, we design the weapons and technology they put out. Artech allowed Mr. Yannick and myself to do this ten years ago and gave us funds to start a corporation 10 years ago under the condition that we not sell to anyone but them. As I'm sure you can guess, this agreement began to show flaws very quickly, as Artech is constantly breathing over our shoulders."
"Which brings me to you men, you've been brought here to help us stand on our own, or perhaps more than that, which we will address in time. For the moment, consider yourselves... beta testers. You will be the front line of a new revolution, and for a revolution to work, we need greater tech than the enemy to topple their infrastructure, and we found that you men will most likely be the best at these jobs."
"And, as I'm sure your all dying to hear, your first assignment, we want you to test the vunerability of the Yansec mainframe, and now Masters 3W and Damien, your incursion was hardly evidence in that you only got into a dummy server and you left clear tracks of you presence, I expected better than that, but I suppose I can't have the world. So, your first assignment will begin once you get to your rooms where you'll find some gifts from us waiting for you."
"Finally, Captain Edgar Mars here," he said pointing to the security captain, "will be your handler at you time here at Yanser, if you have any questions tell him and he will relay them to me, he will be the authorizing anything that you want. Any questions?"

"Beta testers?" Tetsuya asked, "Why isn't there an Alpha then?"
Tetsuya had a good point.
"While we're at it, I'm not comfortable using the words 'dying' and 'first assignment' together."
Now he's just joking around.

"We did Alpha testing, but we need an outside source to test the product. As for using dying and first assignment together, that may not be accurate, but in time, it surely will."

"Well, that's ominous," Tom said in a mild voice, "But not really surprising. I don't know about you guys, but I'm ready to go see about these gifts we've got." He looked at Sera, "With all due respect, I assume we're dismissed now?"

Damien flicked 3W. He knew the machine wouldn't feel it, but hopefully he would remember what Damien always told the lazybones: Always check for a trap, always make sure no-one can trace anything to you, and to always go full strength, no matter the opponent. "Wait, gifts? I assume these are weapons; I like Killing Rain, thank you very much." Damien thought back to his training. He had been taught two-sword style, but he was most familiar with a single sword.

"I think you'll be pleasently suprised Master Damien, and yes you're dismissed, Captain Mars will escort you to your rooms and give you your new ideas that will allow you to move about the building. Remember, if you need anything, we'll try our best to get it to you, that includes elective and cybernetic surgery."

Basically he just wants to know if you want to update your internal deck software

Marko nodded "Thanks, but I like my current software. Plus my system runs through my arm, and I'm not sure how easy that would be to replace quickly."

"It's easier than you'd think Master Marko, but, I suppose it's time for me to bid you farewell," Sera said motioning them out the door. "I shall see you once you've completed your task."

The door slammed as soon as everyone got out, and Captian Mars motioned for everyone to get into the elevator.

Floor 75 was the floor with their rooms, it consisted of one long hallway with three doors on either side with five of the six doors having name plates on them. Behind the respective doors was one of the more luxurious apartments around, completely customized to the tenent's tastes. On each bed in the rooms lay a Yansec Corporation ID card and a box that said "From Charles Yannick and Kevin Sera."

Basically I want to keep the gifts secret from the others, at least at first, so I'll PM each of you on what you find, it's up to you whether or not to reveal what it is you got.

"If you'd just put me down" 3W asked Damien, and when placed on the floor, he raised himself on his wheels and scooted off, entering his room through a small hatch reminiscent of a cat-flap. Inside he found his ID, which he scanned, then placed in a compartment of his body, then opened the box to see what he had been given

Forgive the character control =P

Damien looked inside his room. It was set up like a dojo, with a few trees painted on the wall. Damien pressed in a flap on one of these and it opened up, revealing a laptop. There was a matress in the righthand corner, and a bathroom closed by a door off to the left. He also looked through a door that was directly across from the front door, leading to a training facility. Finally, there was a large tree in the middle of the room, perfecting the harmony between man and nature. Damien then looked on the bed. There was Killing Rain and a large box. Damien opened the box to reveal a sword, a datapad, and a note which read:

"Dear Damien,
I know your sword means a lot to you, and as such we took great pains to make an exact replica, nicks and all, only in a much stronger, nano-weave material. Basically, this material can cut throuh metal like butter and is all but unbreakable. As an added bonus, we understand you have an old...friend here, I think you knew his at TriBit, and we offer the chance of retribution, consequence free. If you sign the datapad given to you, you will be able to inflict whatever your hearts content is on him, at the cost of continuing employment at my company. Feel free to say no, or not use the sword, after all, it's only a gift."

-Kevin Sera

Damien lovingly placed Killing Rain on his left hip, feeling whole once more, but unsheathed the new sword and admired it for a while. He then nodded. "Two sword style it is. I name this new sword Crashing Waves." He then attached this one horizontally across the small of his back, for access with his left hand. He finally contemplated the datapad, hefting it up and down every now and then, before taking one last look at the note. He grinned to himself as he threw the datapad in the air, then rocked all his weight on his back foot while criss-crossing his arms to grab both katanas. The datapad came down at about head height when Damien made his move. All one heard were the sounds of the twin swords rasping against the metal sheaths and streaks of flashing light reflecting off the swords. Damien came to an immediate stop about 5 feet after the datapad, both swords drawn fully. The datapad afterwards resembled nothing so much as cubes of cheese from where the swords had made mincemeat of it. Damien sheathed both swords and turned to face where he knew the camera was. "I hope that's answer enough for you. I don't hold grudges anymore. Thanks for the sword, by the way, but it's not a replacement." He grinned and sat down to meditate, waiting for when they would be called for the mission.

Marko opened his box, finding a small sphere and... something else. After reading the accompanying note, he popped out his prosthetic eye, putting in the sphere, an upgraded version. He played with the improved zoom and thermal features. He had know way of trying the thermal, but he could zoom much farther with almost perfect clarity. Well, this is a welcome change, He thought. The other gift, he wasn't so sure about. He placed it in the front pocket of his sweatshirt, which he hung over the back of a chair.

Tetsuya walked into his room.
"Holy..."
The room was almost exactly like one of his 6 hideouts. It had all of his anime posters (with girls in.... suggestive poses), a huge stack of video games, a higher tech computer, and more. What was missing was his custom made items, but Tetsuya thought that it's better not to get too attached to this place anyway.
"Not like I'm staying long."

Tetsuya found a box on his bed next to the body pillow with Rosa-Lyn on it. Inside the box Tetsuya found a strange looking auxilary deck and a note that read as follows:

"Dear Tetsuya,
This is a top of the line prototype cyberdeck custom designed and programmed to resemble that of an anime deck. While this is mostly for aesthetic, it does have some rather unique features such as a holographic display and interchangerable software for when new features of regular cyberdecks are developed. Enjoy.
Kevin Sera

Tetsuya appreciated the gesture, but despite his deck being an older model, his customization was well beyond anything this thing can do.
"Maybe I can have some fun with this..." as he closed the door to work on "enhancing" his new found gift. He stared at the body pillow on his bed and recalled how he was being monitored.
"...that's gonna be awkward.."

Damien's eyes snapped open. He had finally placed that look that was on Marko's face earlier. It was recognition. And if he had been given the datapad, most likely Marko would have received something similar. He stood up and walked out of his room and into Marko's. He knocked twice then opened the door regardless. He leaned on the doorsill, arms folded across his chest. "Yo, punk." Damien said with a grin. "Remember me? I sure as hell remember you, from Tribit. It's not often I let an intruder go scott-free." With that he unceremoniously dumped the remains of the datapad in Marko's room andflew the not over to Marko, having made it into a paper airplane. He waited until Marko had finished reading the note, which had all information regarding Damien's new sword ripped out, before pointing to the remains of the datapad. "That," Damien declared, "Was the datapad. Note the emphasis on 'was.' I don't hold grudges anymore, so I really don't care about revenge that much. I would be a little more sneaky in the upcoming missions, though- not all mercenaries are as merciful as I was." He waited to hear Marko's response.

Scott stood in front of his door. The gold name plate shined with Scott's name on it. He pushed the door open and stepped in the room. It was a beautiful space, a mid size apartment with a living room and kitchen. Scott walked to the left side of the apartment, there was a door leading to a small work out room. Treadmill, a few free weights, a punching bag, and a few other things. Scott left the room and headed to the other side of the apartment to his bedroom. It was a small room with a bed and dresser another door. Scot walked over to the dresser, it was filled with clothing.
"Thats... interesting."
Scott got undressed and took a shower. The hot water was soothing, it helped clear Scott's head. Scott finished and tried on some of his new clothes. They fit perfectly.
Scott left his room and decided to pay attention to the gift box on his kitchen table. Scott unwrapped the box to find a flat-black metal gauntlet, with a small that when worn goes from the wrist to half way up the forearm.
A note was attached to the underside of the device:

Dear Scott,
We know about your fear of cyberspace and would like to help you over come it with a small token of generousity. Inside you'll find an experimental cyberdeck and a book teaching the basics of hacking, I recommend you try it even if you don't intend on using it on the field, and I also recommend that your wear your deck on missions as it contains a small needle that will inject you with a minor strength enhancing steroid whenever your adrenaline reaches a certain level. Of course, you can disregard all this and do with it as you will, this is just a gift after all.
Kevin Sera

Scott slipped the gauntlet on his arm and the small screen on the bottom began to light up as Scott felt a sharp pain in his forearm. The cyberdeck then projected a hologram into Scott's palm with different bits of information and a welcome guide.
"Well, let's see what this thing can do."
Scott went into his fitness room and started running on the treadmill. After a few minutes Scott's heart rate reached the required rate and the cyberdeck injected Scott with the steroid. Scott felt a rush of energy, he immediately got off the treadmill and hit the punching bag, the bag buckled and split after just a few punches. Scott also noticed that the steroid improved his reaction time and senses.
"This is going to be fun."
Scott was finally able to get to sleep after laying in his bed for over two hours, when the effects wore off.
