for me endings dont neccierily have to be "happy" but they MUST provide some kind of closure this doesnt mean they cant be ambiguous, the worst kind of ending is one that leaves you thinking...wait....WHAT??? In a sad kind of way (fallout 3 original one)
good examples
however I dont like it when an ending tells you TOO much, liek fallout NV...I liek to have a little sense of "the adventure goes on" but I supose thats not the point with fallout
good examples
did nina die? did she just pass out? was it all a dream?, how ever you interperet it it doesnt matter, the ending fits the story and...yeah it feels right
is it all a dream? it doesnt matter, cobb is happy in what ever reality hes in (I think it IS reality)
so most of the main chrachter pretty much died, and their deaths were sad, but they werent sensless deaths, you know and the charachters know thats how things were going to pan out, and so they go out in flaming awsomeness
