Eh, I say this because a computer has patterns that can be learned and exploited to hell over time.

A player is a player. Even if he sucked, he will still continue to get better.
Another player isn't exactly a games "Boss" though is it
Most of the time, someone plays the multiplayer after the single player and if you talk about the final boss in terms of time it takes to get there than yes, Multiplayer would count as a boss although, of course, they could just go straight to the multiplayer but you can also cheat and go straight to the boss in a lot of games as well.

A boss in the end is someone to test your true skill against. How are other players different from that?
You seriously can't say that a "boss level" and multiplayer against other human players are the same thing? Bosses would signify the end of a stage or level, apart from in Co-op games, there isn't a single example of a game I can think of pvp and a typical "boss fight" are linked

Demyx and Xigbar from KH2 were also a pain if you played them on normal or hard.
ummmmmmmmm I think Xaldin wants a talk with you!

Demyx and Xigbar weren't that hard. Maybe the final form of Xemnas was pretty hard if you're not careful.
God, I forgot about him. I was playing on easy and he was the first time I died.

my vote goes to final fantasy VIII's omega wepon for the following reasons.
1 he's armed with the games best magic attacks
2 has a phisical attack that can do over 3000 points of damage to a charecter
3 can absosb ( be healed) by any elmenal attack done againsit him.
4 knows the best attack of ultima wepon( another tough boss) called light pillar which dose 9999 points of damage The maxium amount of health a charcter is alowed to have to a single party member.
5 but to top it all off he has an even storger attack called terra break where he fires over twenty engery blast at your entire party each one doing 9999 to every charecter. The only why to surrive the attack is to have an extermly rare item called holy war that makes your party temporialy invencble.

I only beat this guy once and never been abel to do it agian.

The Hag 1 from Banjo-Tooie in Boss Replay mode. As in, without the cheats.
Sephiroth from the Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 is also pretty tough. I've yet to defeat any of them.

one of the hardest bosses I've encountered had to be Shub-Niggurath from Quake. First time not knowing the pattern it really seems impossible.

Well I would think that honour to be given to one who has yet to be beaten by ANYONE. I don't play FFXI but I've heard about a boss called either Absolute Virtue or Pandemonium Warden who gets buffed by Squeenix every time they've been taken down, so that now no one tries anymore because it's so damn hard even with a fully-equipped and trained group.

Dunno if this counts, but I also read about a boss in a beat 'em up game whose health bar got glitched in production so they would have about 100 times the amount they were supposed to. The boss was fast and strong (you know how beat 'em up bosses are), but the real obstacle here would be your own stamina.

I have a suspicion that Lucifer in Shin Megami Tensei is actually unbeatable. You don't need to defeat him to win the game but you can still try. He's level 99, immune to everything except physical attacks and if you don't kill him within a ridiculously short number of turns he casts an unblockable spell that kill you. Just impossible.

Alma in Ninja Gaiden, or that boss in Final Fantasy VIII that levels with you and if you level to 99 is litteraly unbeatable.

Death from Magicka is pretty tedious due to the fact that you basically have to paper-cut him to death and the fact that all of his attacks are one-hit kills.

Agreed with this too though. I never did manage to beat Nine-Ball Seraph in Another Age

The Hardest I've beaten lately was The Emperor in the first Force Unleashed game, on the Hardest difficulty it was an absolute *****.

In fact, beating that game on the hardest difficulty is probably one of my proudest accomplishments in gaming, the second was easy though.

What about the guy in the crazy JRPG/MMO - Pandemonium Lord or something like that.

A raid group were hammering on him (in a single, unbroken attempt) for 40+ hours or something and had to stop before they had killed him because they had players passing out from exhaustion.
