House did this as well with a Metroid game, with it emitting beeps and boops, but hey, it's not his fault that the scripwriters don't game...

There was one episode House was playing Fable 2 with a 360 controller so I guess some credit is due.

I find myself more annoyed about the "bleeps and bloops" myself. SOOOOO many TV shows, commercials, and movies have characters playing video games and the sound effects are the bleeps and bloops you would expect from a 2600. Seriously, where have these people been?! Do they not realize we are WAY beyond the "bleep and bloop" era of sound effects and quality?!

Definitely. Is it THAT hard to get permission to use sound effects from NON-defunct systems??

I love it when adverts feature a bunch of hot chicks playing a xbox that isn't plugged in. Or they're enjoying a rousing game of the 360 dashboard.

That's too funny. I wish it weren't true. Is it SO hard to plug the thing in and pop in a DEMO of a game even? C'mon people! And it is true that it is an issue by the very fact that everyone is noticing all the discrepancies. We look when a game and/or system is portrayed and we all groan when they get it wrong. Perhaps if there was more commenting about it to producers, we'd see more accuracy.

In scrubs the episode where Turk is playing a video game. they talk like it's halo but when they show it it looks like Far Cry.

I know what episode you're talking about! They talk about Halo.....then the Janitor randomly starts talking about Goblins and the Goblin King.

I was thinking about the exact same thing. He's also saying that he needs a partner to play it but when you look at the screen you can only see one person playing. No split screen or two characters or anything.

Also this. Im pretty sure the controllers weren't even turned on.

I was watching Disturbia and Shia's character was playing GRAW with a headset and acting like it's multiplayer but if you know the game... it's not. And then he's like "there's a secret entrance!" And we all GRAW isn't the kind of game with "secret entrances".

It bothered me too much. I think I need a check-up.

On dexter he was playing halo 3 on a pc, which obviously you can't do!

I remember seeing a commercial where a guy is "playing" Halo 3 with a PS3 controller.

I remember some movie where the kid is using a stearing wheel on his Playstation 2 and he turned and shouted like hell, but all the car on the screen did was drive forward, even when he left the controller.

Im pretty sure they had the trailer for Enemy Territory:Quake Wars playing since I bought it for the 360 when it was released a month after me watching that episode.
