I remember a commercial about a "credit fairy", in which these two dudes were playing a console game that may or may not have been an Atari 2600 using what looked like PC USB controllers. It was tragic, to say the least.

On a different note, remember that part in Grandma's Boy when Covert and the chimp were playing Xbox and the T.V. wasn't even on? I still laugh like an idiot when I see that.

They were wasted as doorknobs.

I saw the Wizard, that really long commercial for Nintendo... In one scene the kid was mashing buttons during an obvious cutscene, and in about 4 seconds he "gets the highest score for double dragon ever" I wasn't aware you could get points in taht game during a cutscene... or at all.

"Fifty thousand?! You got fifty thousand points on Double Dragon?!"

I was amused when the LTD in Men in Black 2 was controlled by a PS2 dual shock controller. And it wasn't even disguised well.

They were playing on a nintendo 64...

I remember on a few occasions some one using a dream cast and was calling it an Xbox, doesn?t that make you mad? And would you guys have any examples of this, or new movies with video games but all of the consoles are ancient.

Well you see the dreamcast is the best consol ever conceived. Infact after the dreamcast era sega still hasn't managed to recover from the awesomeness of it all. In fact I think if I saw people playing the dreamcast in a movie I would like the movie more for that soul reason.

Yeah, I hate that without fail, if a kid is playing some advanced console in a movie, all the noise that you hear is "bleep, bloop" kind of stuff. Geez, people don't understand gaming at all....

I remember the episodes of South Park with Cod:Waw and Guitar Hero. I think thats a perfect example of how if you lean towards too much of one side of this issue (too accurate, or innacurate), then it ends up taking away from the actual movie/show's quality. both piss me off, but having a proper balance between the 2 is best.

The ps2 crushed it by having a built in DVD player. Yes I actually am a Dreamcast fanboy, but the thing about its awesomeness destroying Sega was mostly a joke. I mean they did give up on consols after it failed and Sonic went to hell after Sonic Adventure, which was sexy as was chao raising.

This isn't quite the same thing but it did frustrate me when i saw it. I believe it was the first series of heroes i was watching and the kid with the ability to repair/modify electronics just with the power of his mind and touch was playing on a Playstation 3. This was not a problem apart from the fact that the episode was set before the Playstations release. Okay, its not a major thing but, well, you know, people should just get these things right.

That irritated me to now end.

That and that episode of my wife and kids when Michael was claiming to be playing a game, but in reality was just shaking the controller slightly and occasionally moving the C-stick (it was a gamecube controller).

In general it' just shocking display. I should send a bad letter to their mummies and daddies and a disparaging letter to their local vicar.

I just hate when directors say "take this controller, mash buttons, then yell. They will think you are playing video games just like the average youth!"

I agree with you... Let me use football(soccer for the non americans) As an example here. In my movie I'll say "take this ball and start running around in circles yelling colors and numbers, it'll look just like your really playing."
