I'm thinking of allowing swearing and such in the RP, within the rules of The Escapist of course.
Translating from Smartassian: No, I don't.

But anyhow, cursing? Fuck that shit!
So yeah, I'm fine with it.
I don't really understand what society has against it.
Still, if you drop an F-bomb every other word, it makes sort of difficult to understand what your saying.
Essentially, all things in moderation.
So how about it? I've decided on 5 each time he goes on a mission/whatever you would call it.Nouw said:How about it can only fire X silenced shots? Considering the fact that all of the other players using human weapons have silencers, I don't think you should be restricted on the # of silenced shots you can fire.Nouw said:So how about it? Is it fine?. Besides, I think an Elite>Spartan 'IV' so trying to be balanced doesn't hurt; you do raise a good point though.
That's ok, the irony is that I got Halo Reach for X-mas, so I've been playing the hell out of it ^_^IBlackKiteI said:Sorry guys, been real busy with christmas stuff, but I'm good now.
Only thing I've got left to do before I launch this gig is my character sheet.
But it should be done sooner than I previously anticipated.
I'll post it on this thread once its done if anyone wants to revise their sheet a little or something.

Be best to just have your gun have an unrestricted number of silenced shots, having a limit would be a little unnecessary and confusing.Nouw said:snippage
Okay, you don't have to worry about me being over-powered. Just that when a sentry here's a loud bullet sound they'll know something's upIBlackKiteI said:Be best to just have your gun have an unrestricted number of silenced shots, having a limit would be a little unnecessary and confusing.Nouw said:snippage
Earlier I mentioned unlimited ammo, this will be true to some extent, bullet/plasma weapons have no restriction, though heavier weapons and grenades can't simply be spammed everywhere, but I don't think you guys would do that anyway.
An entirely new thread for the RP will be made and we'll get straight into it from the get-go, as for leaving a link to it on this thread when its up?Ultraman950 said:And also put a link to the actual RP thread in this one so we can find it more easily (unless you wanted to just start with this one, in which case I'll shut up now).
Plz thx bye
I'm very optimistic about the quality of the RP based on your character sheet, though I hope you'll proofread a bit more.IBlackKiteI said:Name: Alexander Chaser
Race: Human
Gender: Male
UNSC Unit: Spartan IV
Rank: Lieutenant
Age: 37
Appearance: Alex wears black Mjolnir armour with a HAZOP helmet, ODST shoulders. His chest piece is the default but with a bandolier for Assault Rifle rounds. His armour also features red stripes, some speculate that this not paint but is actually the blood of Renegades.
Biography: A veteran of the Human-Covenant War as well as the Insurrectionist period Alex was one of the first chosen to become a Spartan IV Commando. While Alex's augmentations were mostly successful he reported having near constant headaches, migraines as well as intense nightmares because of them. As well as this a psychiatric evaluation showed that he had changed dramatically and became a schizophrenic, possibly also somehow attributed to defects in his augmentations. He was deemed unfit for duty and kept under observation while the first S-IV's were sent out to the battlefields. This caused Alex to become very disappointed in himself for not being able to serve the UNSC, he also learned that the particular unit he would have been assigned to sustained appalling casualties, to this day he believes if he were there the losses would have been less. When the S-IV's were recalled Alex's condition had improved somewhat and he underwent training and he was assigned to be the leader of a S-IV team. Alex's squad had a very impressive record and was sent to Theris to conduct operations deep behind enemy lines. While they were at first very successful in fulfilling their assignments squad members began disappearing without a trace while in a forest. When the team was down to 4 members out of the inital total of 8 they set up an encampment for the night with 2 men on watch at all times. When Alex awoke he found that only one of his squad remained. Not wanting to lose his team entirely he stabbed his final squad member in the leg so he could be evacuated off world. While the action did indeed get the soldier away from harm and prevent his squad's total annihilation stabbing a friendly soldier was obviously seen as insane. However the UNSC needed every good squad leader they could get their hands on, and not sure of what to do with him they had Alex lead irregular UNSC/Elite teams in relatively low risk operations with great success. Despite his somewhat odd nature UNSC command thought he was still quite capable to lead a effectively lead a squad and decided to more permanently assign him to another team whose members are soon arriving from off world.
Personality: Alex has a hatred of both Renegades and Therans but is more than willing to work alongside Covenant Separatists.
During his first days in the UNSC as an ODST he generally had an upbeat attitude, but after 19 years of war he has changed. He is not reclusive but is much different than he was before, like all who experienced the war. As well as his somewhat deadened personality his augmentations cause him to occassionally have severe nightmares, headaches and tremors as well as his schizophrenia, however he has grown used to this. One of the reasons he hates Renegades so much is because he believes that the Covenant have always had a 'plan' or purpose, while he thinks the Renegades are mindless killers and anarchists. When he was an ODST sergeant he supposedly ordered his men to fire on civilians thought to be sheltering Rebels, however no investigation was ever conducted and ONI 'looked the other way'.
Specializations:
Trooper
Operator
Commando
All Guns Blazing
Scout
Collaborator
Renegade Hunter
Xenophobe
Weaponry: Assault Rifle with the LED ammo counter/compass replaced with a DMR scope and a Magnum.
Both weapons have detachable suppressors.
Decided to post my sheet in this thread first, may be a good way to add a little more details to your characters if you want, more specifically augmentation screw-ups and that sorta thing.
If you think there's anything weird with it, like contradicing canon or something let me know.
Thanks, though detachable silencers don't need to be stated, its always assumed they can be removed or attached whenever needed.ultrachicken said:I'm very optimistic about the quality of the RP based on your character sheet, though I hope you'll proofread a bit more.
Silencers are always detachable, at least in real life. Is that not so in-game? Should players specify that they want detachable silencers?
Its absolutely and completely ready to go, though I'm not sure whether to start it up now or wait until tomorrow (its 5 PM here) because of our differing time zones which make things kinda weird.Nouw said:So any news on when we can see this RP starting?

Anyway I just think the majority of you guys, you, Ultraman, ultrachicken, Pleasant Kenobi and ninja would have a hard time trying to post just after its started because from what I know its roughly midnightish around there at the moment.
So I reckon it would be best to wait just a little longer.
