Aaah thank you, hopefully my knowledge of Halo Fluff and Lore (read all the books -SQUEAL-) will help.

How about a specialization geared toward snipers and ODSTs that allow for most any weapon to be silenced? Or would that be part of the new spec you just added?

Also, perhaps Halo: Reach's armor mod system, allowing players to swap special abilities, like Armor Lock or Active Camo?
That seems like a pretty cool idea, specializations for attachments or something.
Maybe a choice between another louder attachment, like a grenade launcher, or a silencer.

Although I don't think the armour abilities would work very well, include them and everyone will use jetpacks, remove jetpacks and a lot of players may use sprint even though its something a well trained and fit soldier should be able to do anyway. Include armour lock and players may overuse it, include active camo and it may render stealth specializations redundant.

Possibly even laser-sites or something. Unless the crosshairs are part of the viser's HUD, which I guess makes sense.

Hmmm... I could be keen, but I'd be more interested in playing a support role like recon, comms and electronic warfare. Would it be okay for me to play as an AI?

You could be a character with those abilities but I haven't really considered a user being able to be an AI.

It would be difficult to implement seeing as they have no real physical presence.
They would only ever be able to access information and would most likely need to be 'carried' by another player.
It would honestly be much easier if you were a human or Elite character.

Forgive me but I'm really confused about the whole specializations thing, could you please explain further?

Also, there are dozens of other Sangheli Ranks, could it be possible to implement them?
Interested in Special Operations [http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Special_Operations_Sangheili] and the Stealth Sangheli [http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Stealth_Sangheili].

This doesn't mean I'm going to be a Sangheli, just wondering whether it'd work or not.

The specializations are somewhat similar to the perks of Call of Duty.
Their purpose is to provide a depth to characters which the rest of the sheet may not show.
They do this by giving a choice between one or more and things and only being able to select one of them, therefore this shows your characters preferance in the choices.
Some of the specializations are geared towards your characters backstory and attitudes to the various factions while others directly impact the weapons your character uses and their abilities.
For example if a characters specializations were:

Trooper
Operator
Commando
All Guns Blazing
Tech Expert
Distrustful
Sympathiser
Xenophobe

That means that they use a UNSC full sized weapon, have two attachments on their full sized weapon, prefers to fight shorter battles with superior firepower, is good with technology, is wary of Separatists, is not particularly hateful of Renegades and is wary of Theran natives.
This gives the character advantages such as having two attachments and being good with technology. However this means that they cannot have other bonuses due to their selections, so the player chooses one advantage other another. A player can make any combination which suits them but cannot use a specialization which is already cancelled out by a specialization they have already chosen.
For example a character cannot have both Trooper and Warrior, or Operator and Walking Tank, Demolitionist or Heavy Gunner, because these are cancelled out by the specializations the character already has.

The final three specializations do not affect your characters abilities, and all characters are allied to the Separatists and are enemies of the human Renegades and the natives no matter what. However these specializations basically show your characters personal thoughts on these factions in a nutshell.
For example Xenophobe does not necessarily mean you would literally kill a native rather than interrogate it, it means that your character dislikes them, while Mystified does not make you an ally of the natives it means your character is intrigued by them.
Actually now the final three specializations seem kinda useless, I'll get rid of them if they're confusing or something.

As for Elite ranks that seems like a good idea.
Because the RP is centred around a Spec Ops team Elite Spec Ops will now be the only Elite rank.
Having the more specialized ranks such as Stealth Elite may make things too confusing, so it'll just be the one rank.

This looks interesting, can I be put down as an ODST sniper?
Totally.

Although we've already got a sniper, would you mind using another weapon instead?

Thank you for clearing that up, just a note that not everyone plays Call of Duty :p.

Anyway, since that has been cleared up I will proceed to ask more questions :D!
Could you please give us a detailed explanation of what the Island is like? Well the parts of it we're going to anyway. A brief description of the Natives would be nice too.
Name:Covenant Name-Sssu 'Retomee (Elite Name Maker!) Nickname-Terror
Race: Sangheli
Gender: Male
Rank:Special Operations Sangheli
Age:Unknown
Appearance:Like this [http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100616215316/halo/images/thumb/a/a8/HReach_-_SpecOps_Sangheili.png/646px-HReach_-_SpecOps_Sangheili.png]Except it is a mix between Jet Black and Blood Red. Since it's Sangheli, I can't really describe it anymore.
Personality: Respects humans but to an extent, he wishes to kill any human that isn't like the others. Some are in his 'good book' which he would die for but the majority are mutual allies. One must prove him/herself 'worthy' to gain his respect.
He likes quick and decisive battles, taking out the enemy as soon as they're in his sights. Knowing that frontal conflict is suicide, he picks his enemies off one by one. Although it is rare for him to fight in close-quarters, he like all other Elites are skilled.

Here's my brief character sheet. I know it's a bit vague, but this was all kinda rushed.

Name: Jane Callahan, Callsign "Juno-116"
Race: Human
Gender: Female
UNSC Unit: Spartan IV
Rank: Sargent
Age: 35
Appearance: Green camo Mjolnier armor she claims came from Reach. ODST Helmet, Scout chestpiece, BDU shoulders, silver visor, room for extra clips on her leg.
Bio:
Judging by accent alone, one normally pegs Juno as Australian, but her record says she's from Europe. Not that it matters.

She is, simply put, one of the best snipers in the Spartan-IV class. She can pick off a Grunt's head from 500 meters away, and leave its breathing aparatus intact. Her record is scant on details, but it says she's multi-lingual, and served with "several important UNSC officials".

Personality:
She's naturally curious, which has helped her with her scouting. In most respects, she's pretty open-minded, and is usually willing to give everyone a second chance. Just whatever you do, do NOT waste that second chance, because you will NOT get a third one.

She gets visibly angry when dealing with traitors (traitors to her cause, at least), but rarely outright shoots them.

She's good at following orders, and at issuing them. Her voice is quiet, but autoritative.

Sources say she's a big fan of an old musician named Billy Joel.

Specializations:
Trooper
Operator
Commando
Stealth Expert
Scout
Collaborator
Sympathiser
Mystified

Weaponry: Long-range Anti-Materiel sniper rifle w/10x Heat scope and silencer, standard-issue Magnum w/silencer, two frag grenades.

Could I please make a request for a weapon? Since I'm going to be a Special Ops Sangheli which prefers a stealthy approach, I'm wondering if a 'silenced' Plasma Rifle is alright.

I would like to express interest. Thinking of an Elite who is assigned to this UNSC task force as an informant, someone familiar with the local inhabitants, their language, traditions and covenant lore/legends surrounding the planet.

If I were to play an Elite like this (need to do some reading up on the wiki), would an Energy Sword count as a side arm? And would Active-Camo be alowed? I understand how that could be OP. I just like the idea of playing a character similar to the Dark Templar in Starcraft Cannon.

He's my character sheet.
Name: James Hale
Race: Human
Gender: Male
UNSC Unit: ODST
Rank: Lance Corporal
Age: 28

Appearance: James wears thestandard ODST BUD?s. Under the armour he has scruffy blown (Halfway between brown and blond) hair, sky blue eyes and a scar from when he cut his cheek open as a child.

Personality: James is very calm and controlled, preferring to defuse fudes between team mates through words. He also tends to be chatty and overall very friendly when he?s not exercising his extreme sense of sarcasm. Don?t be fool though, James is a competed fighter, whether it be putting a bullet through a Brutes skull at long range, or silently killing a Jackle with the Tanto that he has sheathed on his right leg.

Bio: James was born on Sigma Octanus IV into a middle class family. He joined the UNSC marine corps at the age 16. He then volunteered to the ODST?s after seeing their actions during the Battle of Paris IV.He passed with flying colours and was premoted to Lance Corporal. His first deployment with the ODST?s was the Battle of Ariel. He later participated in the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV, where he received plasma burns to his left leg evacuating a group of civilians (including his family). He later saw action at the Battles of Reach and Earth, where he was stationed at the HIGHCOM Bravo-6 Facility in Sydney, Australia.

Specializations:
Trooper,Operator,(Will change to Walking Tank if Tanto counts as a full sized weapon)Commando,Stealth Expert,Tech Expert,Collaborator,Sympathiser,Mystified.

Weaponry: James carries a silenced BR55HB SR Battle Rifle with a heat sensitive scope. He also has his Tanto that has a plasma lined edge not unseemlier to Elite energy swords.

I will change it pending any changes.

Everythings great so far, though you need a biography.

I'll add more info (hopefully within an hour of this post) which may help on this.

Nice sheet, although I mentioned earlier Lieutenant is the highest rank and players can be a Private through to Sergeant.
Meaning that I'm the only Lieutenant. Sorry dude, I should have been a lot clearer about this, would it be ok if you were a Sergeant?

tellmeimaninja said:
Name: Liam Barlow, "Liam-513"
Race: Human
Gender: Male
UNSC Unit: Spartan IV
Rank: Sergeant
Age: 46

Appearance: Barlow has green eyes, and short brown hair. HIs skin is very pale, but he is rarely seen out of his armour. He wears a suit of Breacher armour, an EOD helmet equipped with the UA/HUL attachments, Security shoulder gaurds, with pieces of cloth hanging from various parts. His armour has been painted silver, with three black stripes along the chest and arms.

Biography: Barlow was born on Earth. He saw the Human-Covenant War as an opportunity to get off of Earth and to defend the human race. He joined the UNSC military as soon as possible. Several years into his career, he was nearly killed when his warthog was blasted by a group of suicide grunts. After a long while spent recovering, he returned to service. He was among the soldiers fighting to defend Earth when the Covenant's invasions began. When the Spartan-IV program began, Barlow was among the earliest soldiers entered into it.

Personality: Barlow is generally optimistic. Outside of battle, he is talkative and friendly. He cares for his allies and tries to do all he can to defend them. When in combat, Barlow seems to be much more focused on eliminating the enemy than most else. He is somewhat oblivious to those around him, causing him to occasionally insult those around him, especially the former Covenant races. He also refuses to accept that he was nearly killed by a grunt in his military career.

Specializations: Trooper, Walking Tank , Commando , Stealth Expert , Vehicle Expert, Collaborator, Sympathiser, Mystified

Weaponry: Liam carries a BR55 (equipped with a suppressor) and an M90 CAWS Shotgun.
Here's my current character sheet. I'll be leaving it here for my convenience if I have to edit it based on any changes we make to the system.
Awesomesauce, looks great.

Energy sword counts as a side-arm. Active Camo isn't allowed as like you said, it could be overpowered.

The idea of an Elite informant sounds awesome though, however the natives are so mysterious that there is doubt among some people as to whether they even exist. All in all very little of them is known to anyone, even their appearance.
However if your character were knowledgeable not in the natives, (because noone really is) but in the Covenants lore and legends regarding Theris that would be pretty interesting.

Info in the natives will be posted to the OP soon, general things to know about them are.

- They are hostile to all factions
- Encounters with them are rare, but almost always occur in hostility
- Most people who encounter Therans are never seen again
- They are somewhat humanoid, but very few people known much about their appearance
- No matter what happens in the RP they are sure as hell not the Forerunners or any Covenant species, they are something different entirely.

They are such a difficult enemy because there is so little known about them.
They never attack large groups of enemies, they stalk small, unknowing teams operating on the planet, who then often disappear overnight.

Yeah sure, though a literal barrel extention wouldn't make any sense on a Plasma Rifle.
Something like an internal modification which quietens it would though.

Nice.
Everybody gets some sort of knife by default, or in the case of Elites that weird energy dagger thing.
So you can have both your BR and a pistol, plus the Tanto.
Also you forgot to add a second attachment to your BR, because you are using Operator.

Simply out of curiosity, I have Liam's BR equipped with a suppressor. Is the scope an automatic part of the weapon, or would I need to engineer him differently to have one?
The default scope is moreso counted as a part of the weapon rather than an attachment, so you can have that plus your suppressor.

However an optic other than the default scope, say some sort of heat-seeking scope would count as a full attachment.
