Yeah, I'm surprised anyone would even think this is a good idea. It's pretty far beyond any form of logical thought. I have to assume this is either an ironic troll attempt or that the individuals in question were hammered at the time of this idea's inception, because I don't know a single brony who thinks this is a good idea.

Where can I pay money to have all the bronies shipped off to an island somewhere?
Ah, judging a fan base based on the actions of a few obvious morons....a cunning strategy! ....no, wait, not cunning. What's the opposite of that?
[/DBZA reference]
If you had taken a moment to stop and read other people's comments on this (or taken the five seconds to look at the OP's avatar) you might have realized that pretty much EVERYONE, brony or non, has condemned this as a stupid idea. Because you see, most people in any given fandom are capable of recognizing when someone is taking fandom has gone way too far, and will generally try to make it clear that they're not associated with that level of dumb. Like naming your dog "Chewbacca" or your firstborn child after a Harry Potter character. Or when you identify yourself as a "Jedi" under religion, or build a car shaped like the Batmobile.
But please, do continue with your irrational expressions of hatred for people who have different tastes than you (even if some folks are EXTREMELY overbearing about it). It really does amuse me so. Especially since it helps them to validate that persecution complex that you ALSO hate which makes them even MORE overbearing, so really you're doing the functional and logical equivalent of dumping gasoline onto a camp fire in the hopes of putting it out.
You don't like bronies so much? Then do yourself a favor and ignore them. There is no good reason not to just ignore behavior that you obviously don't approve of, especially when any sort of negative reaction just makes it worse. It's just embarrassing that people continue to post things like "god I hate so-and-so" or "god I hate people who do such-and-such" when the individuals in question are 100% avoidable, you're basically CHOOSING to annoy yourself. And I would like to think you're smarter than that. >_>
Brace yourselves, everypony! I'm about to say something: This is stupid.
Thinking practically, does this person even know where to find an uncharted island? How do they plan to get there? Can you actually buy one for that amount? Is it really going to be any better than where you live right now?
If you're actually able to buy an island and have it turn out pretty decent, you'd be more than rich and talented enough with so many resources, you wouldn't even need Kickstarter.

Listen, I'm not anti-brony. I believe MLP is a good thing for showing people that animation can appeal to adults as well as kids. Not just anime, but American animation too.
Why aren't there more non-fans like you? Seriously, almost all I ever seem to hear the non-fans is yelling and screaming like two-year-olds about how "immature" they think we are.

You people are so dumb. This is obviously a huge scam meant to take advantage of people especially those who happen to watch Friendship is Magic and/or are stupid. I love it how everyone is "LOL BRONIES ARE SO STUPID!!" when it fact it's probably some jerks taking advantage of an element of pop culture. If this was based on Star Trek or other franchise none of you would notice.
Well, this seems just a little bit too much. I'm sure it would look nice and all, but it just seems like it is taking the fandom a little bit too far. People have donated to this already?! Madness! They are going to need much more than that to maintain the island and get the legal rights to even think of building the monument.
I do not know this "dennis" person, but holding something as stupid as this against a group of people who obviously do not support it has a mind of supreme ignorance.
Listen, I'm not anti-brony. I believe MLP is a good thing for showing people that animation can appeal to adults as well as kids. Not just anime, but American animation too. I don't watch MLP, but I do joke around with some of my buddies about their liking of it. I don't joke with them because they watch a kid's show, I just poke fun at the fact it's ponies.I have two seasons of The Tick, the first season of Johnny Bravo and the complete series of Daria on DVD. If you want to joke around with me based on my tastes, go ahead. It's all in good fun
Read the article on Falk I've provided. I'm just saying that if the guys who are running this project are extreme fans, word of this will get out to the non-fans and will become synonymous with bronies. Just like how you have moderate conservatives and the far-right. You hear more about the extremists than the other guys, which is sad because those other guys probably are more interesting to talk to.
If someone wants to judge a group of people based on things like this, without knowing their information and accepting what's fed to them on a whim, then they're probably the kind of people we shouldn't concern ourselves with.
It was just the way you put forth that statement, us not being able to "live it down," as if we're at fault for the stupidity of others, didn't exactly sit well with me.
just saying, some things people say when regarding shit involving bronies just comes off as so depressingly condescending.
why people can't just say "oh look, more stupid people" and leave it at that is beyond me.
Okay.
1. There is already a place called equestria on planet earth. It is somewhere in the middle east.
And second. This is both unrealistic and stupid. Now don't get me wrong. If I could travel to the equestria from mlp I would most lightly used all my money on buying a home there and lived there til the day my family had to find a coffin in my size. But 600 000 $ doesn't even crack the bill if you wanna buy an island, rename it and build all the monuments and settlements. 2 million I would believe start cracking the bill. All I am saying is that unless one of these guys have a bank account with numbers so large VALVe is gonna wanna borrow a 3 from them to announce half life 3. This won't happen. Sorry. And any island YOU can buy for 600 000 won't be neither big enough nor pretty enough. And for the record. Isn't this a bit over the top.
I mean I can get why they want it but. Friendship is magic has been running for under 3 years now and face it. It is not that big. It is still pretty f%*|ing big but it's not a household name. If any cartoon deserves this it is the classic Disney(who have Disney land so who needs an island) or the Simpsons (face it. Everyone knows the Simpsons)
My little pony is and amazing cartoon (I just realized that if you told me ten years ago that I would sat that I'd most lightly punch you in the jaw) and the fan content is almost better then the show it self. Not to mention. BRONYCONS!! Good god. I am for this cartoon but that just takes the cake. So I am not seeing this happening. For legal, financial and public reasoning. Still, a fun idea.
