Well kids, the 30 second teaser trailer that is to debut during the superbowl for the upcoming film based on the hugely successful Avatar: The Last Airbender, has arrived on the net.

Opinions? Reactions? APPA! :)
Personally, all the stuff about race aside, I am very much looking forward to seeing this in a decent cinema.

My personal beliefs?

You do NOT watch Superbowl commercials before the SuperBowl.

I refuse to watch.

I agree.

Isn't that the whole point of the Superbowl anyway?

The commercials?

Yeah, no.

That film looks fucking awful.

I mean, I didn't even like the cartoon, but it's one of those things that can only work as a cartoon.

Okay fuck this shit. I hated the animation version and now they have the real version come out... seriously can no body make their own stuff?
Meh. O well this is just my opinion but I bet this destroys the animation story.

I get a serious 300 vibe from that trailer. Also I wonder if there will be any twists like aliens showing up or something. For a superbowl trailer... unimpressive, now by no means is it bad I just find it lacking.

This movie is gonna blow. I loved the show though. Watched every episode, shed just ONE tear when it ended.

Does anyone know if the BBC (in the UK) will be airing the superbowl with the commercials?

I can pretty much see it ending up like the Dragon Ball movie, a complete laughing stock.
I doubt Paramount would drop a couple of million dollars on advertising during the superbowl if it was going to end up being the turd that dragonball was.
I have some hope!

Series = good
Movie = bad

This can be applied to almost any movie spin-off of a TV series.

The show being my favorite and Shyamalan being one of my favorite directors, I'm pumped for the film. I'm seeing some minor inconsistencies that are unnerving, but considering he's making it side-by-side with the creators of the show, I imagine it will all be for the best. I'm freaking pumped. :D

And yes, Avatar: The Last Airbender is the greatest show, American, Japanese, animated, live action, kids, adults, whatever: the greatest show ever to be made. Yes, I'm a fanboy. And I'm in college. To clear that up.

Wow. First off, they (fire benders) didn't look anything like the cartoon series ones. Also, Earth benders can't bend sand (not well at least) and seeing an Earth bender throw up sand as defense was unthinkable.

Did they even look at one episode of the series?

I sense this movie will suck.

Avatar is awesome! I stopped watching it anyway, and silently bid my time to pretend to misunderstand someone clearly talking about Cameron's 3D extravaganza.

I mention this because I noticed the movie's name is not Avatar The Last Airbender.

The whole football thing is just something to make you sit through the commercials.

I loved the show, and I'm definitely going to go see it once it hits theaters. However, I'm sceptical whether this actually works as something other than a cartoon, and seeing who's the director of this movie hasn't exactly eased that scepticism.
