I've just finished reading World War Z. I thought it was an awesome book because it was between 20 & 30 zombie stories chucked into one book, with each of the stories dealing with different stages of a zombie out break. It dealt with how infection could have spread from country to country (ilegal transplants & human trafficing) to military response/failure all the way to taking back the planet(sorry if this is a miny review)

So what was the last book you read & what made it enjoyable for you... or even what made it crap for you?

I've just about finished Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. It's better than the bits of the film I can remember. the film is quite different, which ruins it, really.
and then I'll be back onto the David Weber books.

I'd like to say the Lion of Boaz-Jachin and Jachin-Boaz, but hey, I need to sleep sometime, right?
I would also like to say Catch-22, but it's damn hard going.
So I'll say Thud! because technically it was the last book I read. Well, Thud! or Stalingrad. I forget.

Saving Strangers by erm someone Wheeler. It was insightful about humanitarian intervention and gave me lots of ideas for my essay.
The last fictional book i read was the Bolyn Inherintance by Philippa Gregory. I enjoyed it because the historical facts were accurate and it was a nice way on how a historian interprets events and peoples actions such as Jane Bolyn (yes i can't spell the damn name) acted insane rather than going insane.

The Stainless Steel Rat by Harry Harrison.

I don't read all that much, this was the first book I've read in years.

All Quiet on the Western Front by a German dude. It was for my English class. It was good, not something I'd normally read, though.

'Kafka on the beach' by Some Japanese Guy.
I liked it, and it was very special. Before that I read The divine comedy (old translation)by Dante. It was tough, but I made it through. And I learned some things along the way.
