The last time you felt immersed in a game.

Games don't tend to immerse me very well.
But I suppose the one game that did immerse me to a certain extent would have to be Morrowind: The Elder Scrolls.
I spent many, many, MANY an hour there, killing Coprus, Vampires, Alits, Kagouti's and all manner of other strange and fantastical beasts. God only knows why I removed it from my computer... To install something else, I think.
I miss MW:TES *sigh*

Quite a few games... BioWare RPGs do that regularly for me, just thanks to being so dense in terms of worldbuilding, story and haracters. But the last game that sucked me in in a "Woah why is the sun already up... holy crap its already morning?!" kind of way: Mount & Blade Warband. Sure it has no story, but this Open World just sucks me in, I'm intrigued what I can do next, what zany wars will brake out next, where can I get fresh recruits, how can I improve my standing in the realm and so on and so on. I play two characters most of the time, one a honorable, good protector of the peasants riding for the Khergit Khanat, the other a filthy, scourge of the lands, blade for hire kind of leader looking to make her own kingdom one day. It's very entertaining, although the graphics are a bit lackluster. But I think my imagination makes more than up for that. It's similar to reading a good book, just that you can write your story your way.

In gaming history yes. Bioshock is the most immersive game I've ever played.

The most recent one was Dragon Age Origins. I was immersed into the world of Dragon Age because I was the character. That's why I'm not very happy with Hawke having a voice.

Fallout 3 definatly, the game just draws you in keeps you stuck in for hours on end
and far cry2, the game just gets downright intense when you start to run out of ammo.

also, AC2 and AC:B. never felt immersed with desmond, but ezio was one of the most interesting characters i've ever gotten to play with

Since being 'immersed in a game' means different things to different people I will answere it with the last game that made me forget I had been playing it for hours and hours on end, and that was Fallout New Vegas a few days ago.

Dragon Age Origins I haven't been that involved in a game in a long while. Just the story, the game play etc. It made me want to keep on playing...

Completely immersed? GTA Vice City. In my life I have studied a lot of foreign languages, and it's always been my experience that the only way you know you're REALLY fluent in a language is when you DREAM in that language. I knew I was fluent in Spanish (I'm not anymore, been awhile since I had practice) when I started dreaming in Spanish.

That wasn't an off-topic tangent. The point I'm coming to is this: I woke up one day about three months after Vice City came out and realized that the dream I'd just had, although it featured me and my girlfriend and my family...TOOK PLACE in Vice City. For a few months, every time I dreamed it took place in various locations around Vice City. THAT is an immersive game.

BioShock comes to mind, I really got into that. As does Fallout 3, I made decisions in that game based on my own desires (they were wholesome. promise). Half-Life 2 also drew me in. But in earnest it was probably System Shock 2. Came out when I was in high school, just remember spending nights in total dark, with headphones on (so I didn't wake the family), sweating and terrified and wholly unwilling to stop playing.

Also the first two Thief games. They were light on story content but the world and character of Garrett are badass-times-two. So I guess I loves me some Looking Glass/Irrational.

Earlier today when I played persona 4 and felt guilty about choosing to go to drama club instead of hanging with friends. I'm only about 7 hours in and I'm already more attached to the characters than I have been in any other game
