Okay I'm going to go for the last three books I've read. I am of March, 1994 so it'll be the third sentence of the 94th page. 9th day as well so that'll be my "word" (Ninth word of the third sentence of the 94th page).
A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess
"There it was again, all the old ultra-violence and vecks with their gullivers smashed and torn krovvy-dripping ptitsas creeching for mercy, the like private and individual fillying and nastiness"
Well, thats a great start. A description of violence. Makes me feel loved. Well it could've been a lot worse I guess.
The Word: "And" Well that sucks.
The Metamorphosis - Franz Kafka
While the story itself is only 50 pages my copy has essays and notes on the text. This brings the total up to 194 pages. Also since these are notes while they are in a book by Kafka this part was written in an analysis by Luke.
"Or is not illness a kind of holiness, and anguished primitive fantasy the substance of art and religion, and may not the energy of savage instinct serve the loftiest aims?"
I actually quite like that. Illness a kind of holiness, savage instinct serving lofty aims. Its quite good.
The Word: "And" Again? You've got to be kidding me.
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? - Philip K. Dick
First of all I love this book. I read it cover to cover in a single sitting, something I haven't done in a long while. That is why I'm hoping I get a good sentence (as there are many in the book).
"'They'll take your statement at the Hall of Justice,' Officer Crams interrupted."
Okay so this doesn't seem like much but really its in between two incredible parts bridging them. While I know I could have gotten a better line I'm moderately happy with this one.
The Word: "Justice" Well this is a lot better then "And". I'm quite pleased.
Bonus Book (Current Book): The Diving Bell and The Butterfly - Jean-Dominique Bauby
I've just started this book but I'll include it anyway for fun.
"We thread our way through a moving forest of ice-cream cones and crimson thighs."
I'd comment...but I haven't reached this page yet so I'm clueless.
The Word: "Of" Well hot damn. I have absolutely no luck when it comes to the word.
