Fair enough, but I'm not going to feel bad about it because this is supposed to be the little things that bother us.Loop Stricken said:It really, really does.DoctorNick said:I know that sounds excessively pedantic but really, a few quality minutes with Google and some reference pictures would solve it. Hence: They Just Didn't Care.
Quick example, and continuing with the gun-theme:
I put 'M-16' into Google, first link is Wikipedia [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M16_rifle], of course, which give me pictures of it showing the overall layout and operating scheme. Also, it tells me things like that it fires the NATO 5.56mm round and that most standard magazines have a capacity of 30 rounds.
That took less than two minutes. If your game is set in a modern 'realistic' setting you have NO excuse not to spend the little bit of time it takes to figure this shit out.
Again, the peeve here was: They Just Didn't Care.
I think this bothers me as much as it does because usually it feels like that if they couldn't be bothered to do something so basic and easy as this then the overall polish level of the rest of the game is usually about the same.
That is to say: Utter shit.
EDIT:
Fixed a typo.
