This actually looks pretty entertaining for a modern kids movie. Plus it is being made by the guys who did despicable me.

It's so cute, bright and colorful, I feel like a bird attracted to something really shiny. Looks great.

That looks surprisingly not terrible. Maybe because it's really late, I don't know. I might be on the lookout.

Gonna say maybe. It might be a little too goofy to get Suess's original idea across. Hard to tell from the trailer, but I hope they keep true the old-time spirit.

Will probably check it out.

Taylor Swift as a voice actor...

Plus, wasn't The Lorax one of Suess's most polarizing works to begin with?

I feel like someone attempted to force feed me a bucket of sugar, and washed it down with syrup.

Then again, I'm a lifelong cynical b******.

Gah, why couldn't they just tell the grim-hopeful message like the book was? What's so hard about staying faithful? The book has a really powerful message about big corporations and abusing resources. The book never showed the 'Once-ler's face for a reason.

I'll pass.

Would've gone to see that but when you said it was done by the guys who did 'Despicable me', I lost all interest.

I saw some of Despicable Me, but lost all respect when the dead dog 'joke' (and I use the word lightly) came up. Just not cool.

That doesn't look like the once-ler to me. Now how can I look at it like a big faceless corporation using up all the natural resources?

Makes sense, its probably the most overtly political of all his books. I mean we still have nutjobs who 'think' that global warming is a hoax today. Imagine the reaction to a children's book about environmentalism (among other, more subtle things), 50 years ago.

Regarding the film. I'm always happy to see things with lots of color-far to little of it in media anymore- but is it just me or does this movie seem to have little to nothing to do with the actual book. beyond the broad imagery ofc. Granted it has been at least 15 years since i last read it, but i seem to remember it being very dystopian.

Don't know, seems a bit removed from the original story but I will probably check it out. Besides the Lorax was my favorite Suess story as a kid (watched it every time it came on)and I loved Despicable Me.

Hey, that actually looks pretty good dispite the fact that it seems a lot goofier than the book.
Still, if they use the word "biggered", I'll be happy.

I really want to see it now.
I don't really like Taylor Swift, but she sounds pretty good in this.
And I quite like Zac Efron [small](DONT JUDGE ME)[/small], and he sounds also quite good in this.
Kids movie be damned, I wanna see it!
Plus, Ed Helms is an absolute LEGEND.

Looks good actually. I'm surprised. I was expecting a morality play like the book, but they managed to come up with something new. Might be the first animated/movie suess thing that I think might actually be Goood!
