I have always used a mac. Mainly due to them never crashing, getting viruses or dying. But I feel they basically are the same as Microsoft computers, although it can be a bit of a bugger to get a good 2 buttoned mouse for it.
They crash, they die, and they do get viruses. Not as often, but it's not because there's something inherent to Mac that prevents any of the above. They don't crash because MacOS is built from scratch with every version, while Windows Vista is still rooted on files from Windows 3.0, they die the same as parts do wear out consistently with use, and viruses... Macs don't get as many viruses because when some fuckwit wants to cause mayhem, is he going to design a Windows-based virus, which will infect 75% of all computers, or a Mac one which will infect at-most 10% of all computers (15% balance is Unix, Linux, etc)? Mac is rarely worth an idiot's time to infect because there's more damage to be done with PCs by simple numbers.
Although I agree in some parts, I disagree on your figures. More people have Macs then Unix/Linux/etc, and I would say its less then 75%, for people who own PC's.

Depends on whether you're talking about desktops/laptops or computers in general (and on what you consider to be a full-fledged "computer"). There are a lot of *nix servers around, for example.

That's "I'm a Mac" guy, right?

Everyone I know thinks John Hodgman is by far the nicer/cuter one of the pair.

2. Deepak Chopra is in every fucking "I'm a PC" ad. Deepak Chopra is one of the world's biggest purveyors of New-Age woo. Hence, I treat any product or service that actively seeks out the support of Deepak Chopra with suspicion. Deepak Chopra is not someone that anyone with an inkling of sense should ever, ever trust.

I know who Deepak Chopra is, however I do not know what he looks like and given he's one out of about 30 people in the "I'm a PC" ads, I do not care since he is not every person in the ads. He is one person out of a mosaic of people, which is more than i can say for the base mosiac of mac users who do not use it for professional reasons (and you can easily spot the difference)

Here's what he looks like [http://ww1.prweb.com/prfiles/2007/02/07/503654/Deepakwebpr.jpg].

They gave him just a bit more face time than any other character and set him up as some kind of "PC" guru. In one ad he's the guy talking about being a "human being" rather than a "human doing." In the other ad he's talking about how everybody is magically connected by their "PC"-being-ness.

Yeah its definitely Mac users who are the ignorant, arrogant and offensive ones.
I think it's safe to say that a reasonable amount of both PC and mac users are 'ignorant, arrogant and offensive' - what matters is who is right.

Could you PLEASE spell and grammar check your posts? Seriously, they're a nightmare to read and don't help your side of the argument.

Anyway. In highschool I had to work with Macs. And they gave me more problems in one month than Vista has given me this past year. And that was using them for what they're allegedly for, photoshop and video editing. Seriously, when three Macs lock up during power up, there's a problem.
im deeply sorry about that i always try to keep my grammar in the ok zone but some people made me loose my nerve and i wast at work, :p besides the english its not my mother language and i try to do my best

I'm not sure how well Garage Band works for sound recording, but for editing it is pretty damn good. That said, I haven't used any PC equivalents.

It's evident, as with many topics you post in, that you are very keen to watch this turn into a flamewar.

The threads is not "Wich iz bttr Mac oR PC???"
jim_doki was asking for information on OSX software, I told him what I knew, then clarified my point with the add on that I had no experience with Windows equivalents, so my argument could be flawed, however, I still stand by it. If you know this to be untrue, please say so, and justify your reasoning.

I did not simply claim "MACs r teh Best! PC suckz!!" and because of that I would expect my contribution to be corrected, agreed with, or disagreed with. I would not expect a fragment of my post to be attacked because you have a vaguely different opinion.

If you really do want a flame war, there are plenty of religion and politics topics out there.

How can personal taste be correct?

Assuming that your opinion is more right than someone else's opinion would also be close to arrogance.

As a guy who uses a mac:

If you are going to use it primarily for games, a mac is the wrong choice.

If you are going to use it primarily for anything other than games, a mac is very likely the best choice.
This.

I have a completely honest, non-biased question for Mac users.

Why are they supposedly better for image, music, and video editing?

What can they do that a PC can't?
