Ah yes, The Human Reaper. I've recently re-beaten Mass Effect 2 and once again the first time you view the final boss before it activates had me in awe.

I mean, honestly. I can't have been the only one who was momentarily scared of the pants-crappingly massive titan that bared such a striking resemblance to Good ol' Ahnold. Even though it had to have been by far one of the easiest final boss fights ever I still think that it gets points towards "best boss monster" in my book.

EDIT: Happy now? Put your rage away. You'll poke someone's eye out if you keep swinging it around in such a way.

Ah yes, the huge spoiler in the title. I wonder why you didn't mention anything about snape and dumbledore.
If it'll give you closure I will. Hell I'd do one better.
Guess who Luke Skywalker's father is?

I know ME2 hasn't exactly been out for years but its been out for three months.
Thats a fairly good amount of time in the world of gaming and I'm sure anyone who reads this won't see it as a first time spoil. I myself was lucky enough that the man I bought my game from had beaten it the night before and decided he would be justified in the action of raping my ears with every minute detail to the point of my wanting to ram a copy of Loca Roca down his mouth flap.

I'll admit it was certainly impressive to behold and it certainly made me feel big for being able to take it out.
However, I find myself wondering what, if any, purpose this human reaper served that couldn't have been done by any other Reaper. Come to think of it, why did the Reapers even both with the Collectors at all? Why not just invade our galaxy from Dark Space in the two years while Shepard was inactive, I mean in Mass Effect 1, that was their primary goal and they were determined to get it done.

Still, I shouldn't ask too many questions when the resolution hasn't been made yet, I still trust Bioware enough that they can shed some light on this. After all there's still some mystery in the air, like why the Collectors chose humans over any other species and all...

So yeah in conclusion, didn't understand its point for plot but a hell of an epic sight nonetheless.

That's one of the few bits of Mass Effect 2 I didn't like! Starships do not work that way! The design makes exactly zero sense in the construction of a starship, stupid reapers...

Personally I'd have been more afraid of a Krogan or Turian reaper. Don't you agree?

I don't think he was less of a starship and more of a planet destroying war machine. Judging by his size I'm sure he could have been carried by another reaper. Easily.

Yeah, however I don't really want to imagine the power within a Krogan Reaper.... that would be intense.

Three months is NOTHING! There are countless of movie classics that I haven't seen yet (but might want to some day) that people have not spoiled for me. Yes, when you play an old game you run the risk that some inconsiderate person might ruin the fun for you, so you have to be a little bit careful. This becomes a lot harder when people give no spoiler warning, or even an indication that they are talking about a game you may not want to know the ending to (when for instance they put it into the title of a topic on a general game forum). And how much effort would it really have been to name the topic "Concerning the ME2 boss *SPOILERS*". Even after your blatant mistake has been pointed out to you, you refuse to correct it.

\rant

Anyway, I wasn't really impressed with the boss. In ME1 we *spoiler* already fought and killed a proper Reaper, so it seemed kind of an anti-climax to fight a squishy humanoid Reaper-embryo in the sequel. It was completely unclear to me why they would even build the thing in the first place (and not in a mysterious sort of way), and even then, I would have wanted to kill this Uberreaper when it was grown.

Wasn't a mistake. If it were I would have corrected it before posting.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand.

I was honestly let down by how easy the human reaper was to kill. Compared to when Sovereign overtook Saren that was a cake walk. I even went back and put it on the hardest difficulty. It had a bit of difficulty then but I still never died.

Subnote: When writing names of video game characters does anyone else right click and add to dictionary?

So, what then? Shear malice?

You're right, even Saren was harder. I guess the dictionary thing depends on what browser you use, but personally I don't use the functionality (probably mainly because I can't be bothered to look up how to change it to English so it'll stop underlining every other word).

They came from a world consisting of nothing but hentai squids.

I always got the impression that because it was called a Reaper Larva, that it would undergo some sort of metamorphosis or eventually "grow" to be like the other big bad reapers.

I thought it looked absolutely terrible. I did spend ages thinking about whether to salvage or destroy it though. I especially didn't get how it was based on us when we haven't seen any reapers based on the Protheans.

Also you can put in spoilers like this:
You don't get to see Tali's face!

Just reply and you'll see the simple commands on how to do it.

I've been playing ME2 through on the hardest difficulty, and am always wondering what fighting the Human Reaper will be like there.

Actually, what I'm especially not looking forward to is fighting all the husks in the derelict Reaper, but other than that I'm progressing nicely - past Horizon, and temporarily halted not by an impassable fight, but by the arrival of a new game.

How did you pass Horizon? I'm on insanity and it's kicking my ass... I hate Scions with a passion... I am thinking of bringing Zaeed and Grunt... and using the flamethrower.
