as a child growing up my best friend was an American boy named "Barney" and his father was in the USMC(United States Marine Corps) and when he was 16 he was KIA, and from than on Barney had planed to move back to America and join the Corps to get revenge for his father, and so he moved away about 4 years ago and join the USMC. i haven't gotten a letter from him in 4 weeks so im not sure whether he's alive or not but if he was to die i can guarantee you one thing, If he goes im goin' too. its a blood oath we took when we were 12 "if one of use dies than the other one has to die the same way" i know it might sounds crazy but to me it sounds perfectly fine. so if i find out he's KIA than im going to become an American and joining up. I love Ireland with all of my heart and i always will but this is something that would need to be done.

that ODST video reminds me of his story a lot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRMUYpH7bQk

Quite clearly you didnt see china's processions. The urge to carpet bomb one of those is soooo high, But i know it WOULD start WW3, Or at least REALLY piss off the people's republic.
Sorry?. I am failing to see your point there!.

A military procession is not a battlefield tactic, it's something done on a special occasion. It's more of a display to the public and the world. I am sure the Chinese (on the battlefield) would not be marching together conveniently under a B-52 when the time comes for war.

Also, on that note, who would want to bomb the Chinese? More to the point why do you want to bomb processions so badly?. The only logical way for that to happen is through a surprise attack because nations at war hardly have military parades, seeing as the military has better things to do during those times. I don't think any nation is keen on launching surprise attacks anymore, this is the 21st century. The political fallout would be catastrophic

I'm in the U.S. and we aren't required to enter service.
During war, people may be drafted into duty, but that hasn't happened since World War II.

I think Italy has mandatory military service.

Its not supposed to make sense, But i just think it would be funny when theres thousands of soliders marching in a tight formation to carpet bomb it.

Im just that kind of person, But yeah, I know IRL if we did that WW3 would start. End of really.

Indeed, should be interesting, most people just explode when you try and discuss conspiracies...

"Cancer virus" was talked about by this idiot, Alex Jones, i couldn't find the link before. http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=543678746670&ref=mf

Was quite amusing.

The above is a decent link and listed quite a few sources for its article. I'm mostly using it since it has a relatively clear picture of the waterfall of orange sparks that were seen coming from the towers. As you can see they are clearly below the affected floors. This being molten iron[/] within an hour of impact. As far as science knows jet fuel doesn't melt high grade steel, heck it doesn't even burn even remotely close to the temp required to melt steel.

But even if we assume that the trade towers part was genuine terrorism ad by some magical act of the gods it managed to burn at over 100% of its potential heat. then theres still the very iffy matter of the plane that "vaporised" or "Broke into many small pieces" on impact.

Thats all they found in Shanksville PA, a 100 tonne+ plane magicaly reduced to naught but a smoking crater and barely enough debris to make a car or two, and not a body in sight. Correct me if I'm wrong, but even a massive explosion from a plane does leave charred bodies and limbs among the debris.

A poster here asks how a plane managed to get blown into pieces that all fit inside a backpack.

Kind of obvious that at least one part of 9/11 was faked.

Britain's army, with the exception of the world wars, has always been a professional-voluntary force. I'd like to see that continue, besides an army made up of those who willfully signed up to fight a war will be more effective than a conscript army.

I have a friend here who spent most of his teenage years in the air training cadet's, firing rifles and mucking about playing army and flying trainer aircraft, said it was great fun. However he was then asked by three different regiments (i think they where the Scot's Guard's, the royal Anglican's and the Mercian regiment) to join up for a couple of years. They would pay for his university tuition fees when he finished service and he could even start off as a 1st lieutenant. However, the main reason why he turned the offer down was that as soon as he had finished training at Sandhurst, he would have been sent off to Afganistan. I think i would have turned the offer down as well.

In Finland we have compulsory military service for all male citizens over 18 years old. Length of service is between 6-12 months, depending on what you do. Got my call up recently, as a matter of fact, being sent to Santahamina (island connected by bridge to Helsinki) in June 2011.

Okay,
The first source is from a person who run a conspiracy theorist oriented radio talk show who lets anti-semites and extremists on his show.According to the Anti-Defamation League anyway.

Also, have you looked at this article:
http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/military_law/1227842.html

Second, all that's given in that article, it even says this itself is "theories".

The third one seems pretty unbiased and looks worth looking into, however the "the media LIES TO YOU AGAIN" line seems to indicate an agenda.

Here in the US all males turning 18 just sign up for a draft. If the draft is called(which it hasn't been for about 30 years) some of those on the list are conscripted.

That is irrelevant to me though since I am joining the Air Force after College, which will be partially payed by the Air Force.

not really, 2 years really isnt that much time, its generally only 1 year and a half of service and half a year giving u training on doing a job , which helps outside the military too.

also 2 years is long enough to teach people basic skills and discipline, i feel its appropriate, after that you can go to college and live out your life.
And wars are magical hippie fests where nobody gets killed or comes back so screwed in the head they can no longer fucntion in society. Tell that to the VA hospitals.

Going to college teaches discipline and isn't mandatory. Getting a job teaches discipline and isn't mandatory.

My issue isn't with tough learning: I'm an educator myself and believe that discipline is something everyone needs. The problem is that you're in the army - if a war comes along, your ass is on the front line. Sure, military training is a good thing to have, and it does build drive/character/discipline, but it also involves killing people and possibly getting killed. I don't think throwing your life away should be required.
