Mas Oyama [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mas_Oyama], aka the God hand. His schtick? He would demonstrate his martial arts prowess by fighting and killing bulls... with his bare hands... sometimes in a single blow. Badass.

Vasili Arkhipov <- This bastard saved the fucking world. How many of your petty badasses can claim that feat ? Also he commanded a submarine, with nukes.

Yeah, another vote in favor of The White Death himself, Simo Hayha. Explosive round to the head doesn't kill him, artillery strike only shreds his coat, whole missions dedicated to killing one man and none of them were fully successful since he never died. Yeah, I say he wins.

I'm gonna go with the hypothetical unknown person/neanderthall who made the first step in creating the bond between Man and Dog. Don't know who, don't know how, but someone had to have done something involving the wolf, one of the most successful predators in the wild and set the stage for turning them into the original companion animal. And I'm fairly sure that they would have been one hell of a badass for that act alone.
I'd guess it all started with a human stumbling across some wolf pups.

Not exactly terror inducing.

I'll nominate Carlos Hathcock [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Hathcock]. 93 confirmed kills (From wiki: During the Vietnam War, kills had to be confirmed by an acting third party, who had to be an officer, besides the sniper's spotter. Snipers often did not have an acting third party present, making confirmation difficult, especially if the target was behind enemy lines, as was usually the case).

As a fan of military history, Simo Hayha [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simo_H%C3%A4yh%C3%A4] stands out as one of the most badass individual soldiers of the 20th century. 505 confirmed sniper kills in less than 100 days? That's badassery.
Damn you!! I am a FINN it is my job to bring that name here!

Instead I am just going to add on a little!

Well, let's just check the list [http://www.badassoftheweek.com/list.html] and see who stands out.

Ooooh, so hard to choose. I'm going either Teddy Roosevelt or MacGyver.

Unless we can have the honey badger.

I'd have to say Hannibal. Not only did he bring Rome to its knees at the height of its power, but he crossed the Alps. Over 2000 years ago. With over 20000 troops surviving.

Already 2 straight off a Cracked list haha. But they are two badasses to be sure.

Obligatory Teddy Roosevelt. He hunted large African game, gave speeches with a bullet in his chest and had a moustache a walrus would be jealous of.

Oh and he didn't afraid of anything
Ninja'd. Theodore Roosevelt is always at the top of my list. I'd really like to see politicians like him again in America

Ja onhan Häyhä aika vitun mies, mut se nyt oli tossa jo mainittuna, ja Ryti-Ribbentrop vaan on sen tason kusetus et maailman sietää tietää...

...aaand we're back to English now. Don't modwrath me bro.

Napoleon.

The man took over France, and then invaded everything else. It took a couple Multinational coalitions to oust him from power. He was a man who really, really wanted to not not be Emperor.

He was banished several times, and each time he found a way back to France, which then re-made him Emperor, and then he would raise very large armies and go a-conquerin. And after directly causing several world wars, the British so feared his spirit that they exiled him instead of executing him.

He had plans to return to France before he died.

Everyone said Simo Hayha so I don't have to.
As someone currently training in his art, I'd have to say Bruce Lee, though that's not to say I wasn't in awe of the man for years earlier.
My third pick would have to be the legendary karate master Oyama or "Godhand". I swear, he sounds more like a mythological figure than a real person but killing charging bulls with one punch 3 outta 5 times? Damn
