Don Logan, just say yes.

Don Lope de Aguirre crazier than the Joker.

Reverend Harry Powell, yep Harry Powell is the most badarse of them all...

"Well now, what's it to be Lord? Another widow? How many has it been? Six? Twelve? I disremember. You say the word, Lord, I'm on my way...You always send me money to go forth and preach your Word. The widow with a little wad of bills hid away in a sugar bowl. Lord, I am tired. Sometimes I wonder if you really understand. Not that You mind the killin's. Yore Book is full of killin's. But there are things you do hate Lord: perfume-smellin' things, lacy things, things with curly hair..."

"There are too many of them. Can't kill the world"

Being played by Robert Mitchum doesn't hurt his badarsery.

im gonna go with irenicus from baldurs gate 2 as well, its the first time i actually felt hatred for a character and then sadness in a video game, when you learn why he became the way he did

Brigadier General Francis X. Hummel.

His villainy is debatable, his badassness is not.
This. Or what about Bennet from commando?

Archimonde.

He made a sandcastle. He then destroyed it. That day one of the coolest and most important cities in Azeroth was destroyed.

Lex Luthor

also can't go wrong with Darkseid especially when he is voiced by Michael Ironside.
Lex in my opinion is to cowardly especially in the films to be a good enough villain to me hes more of a henchman in my opinion

Glorificus and Dark Willow.
In my opinion Dark Willow was a shining example of writers block dude if a buffy villain then either The First or Adam lol
All right, I'll take the bate. Dark Willow was the second best BtVS villain (after Angelus) due to her being the antithesis of Buffy and is in NO WAY a case of writers block; Adam was the laziest of villains.

OT: I would have gone with Darth Vader before Episodes 1 to 3 came out but as others have pointed out, Lucas turned him into a whiny *****. I will instead go with the one character that was improved with those films - Emperor Palpetine/Darth Sidius.
Here is a villain so badass that he can be dripping with the dark side and still sit arrogantly in front of Yoda with no worry of discovery. Plus, how many people have killed Samuel L on screen and got away with it? I can't think of any.

UNLIMITED POWER!!!!

Xanatos from Gargoyles. Nothing more needing to be said. He's the only sitcom villain to actually win about as much as he loses, and heck, even when he loses he profits in some way.

He alone made that film worth watching, aside from the equally badass Sean Connerry.
I seriously hope you're not dissing Stanley Goodspeed or Commander Anderson by that.

Yeah, I love The Rock. How'd you guess?

Keyser Soze. The man killed his own family so the mafia hostage takers couldn't have the satifaction... And then killed all the Hungarians except one, so he could tell the mafia what had happened. He then dissapears, and begins to murder anybody and everybody affiliated with the mafia or that just happens to gets in his way (innocents included).

"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't exist." - Keyser Soze
Damn it... well, there you go. How could I forget?

Of course, Keyser Soze. The sole concept of the figure makes The Usual Suspects a damn good film.

Since Lelouch has already been mentioned, i'd say... Manfred Von Karma from Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, he was probably the best opponent in the game... And y'know the finger snap was awesome XD

Lord Cutler Beckett, Pirates of the Caribbean :p He was so epic that i rooted for him.
Is he really a villain? He was a crime fighting, progressive sort, and the pirates were the bad guys.

I guess someone had to take up the slack in the last movie; Capt. Barbossa was a now a comic side-kick to Jack Sparrow, and Davy Jones became a pussy whipped, de-masculated wuss. Barbossa was an awesome baddy in the first movie. Davy Jones was suitable for the sequel. Beckett is kind of lame.

Oh, and most badass? The bad guy from Avatar. Come on, it was a lousy movie, but that guy was great. He would walk outside into a lethally toxic atmosphere without a mask, just so he could get an extra second to carry on shooting people. He watches a flaming holocaust whilst drinking coffee and laughing. He jumps out of a crashing aircraft in a robot gorrilla suit and takes on a giant native riding a panther the size of an elephant in a knife fight. That's bad ass!
You're right. I just liked his ship. Still dont understand it, that thing had like five hundred canons it could have owned the black pearl and maybe scratched the Flying Dutchman. I mean really...

I'd say Gravemind from the Halo series...

I mean, he has the combined intelligence of billions, wiped entire galaxies clean and controls millions of the Flood! The only thing missing is the shades...

THE SHADES!!!!
