Flower was beautiful both from a visual standpoint and from a thematic one. It's actually quite heartbreaking when you stop to think about it, and what's going on.
Agreed.FalloutJack said:I'll tow the Shadows of the Colossus line, sure.

Maybe it's just that I like Steampunk/Art Deco.
I'm probably going to get *****-slapped for this one, but the concepts presented in 'Lost Odysee' blew my mind. I play that game time and again just to see the artistic design.FROGGEman2 said:Isn't there a wrong and right answer to this question?
That is, Crysis and not-Crysis?
Runners up would be Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2.
As for art direction, I would say... probably Flower.
Let's hear it for a very under rated game. Well said MarreckSteel.MarreckSteel said:I'm going to throw this games hat in the ring, cause I don't think it'll be mentioned for a good while. Valkyria Chronicles to me was a beautiful looking and beautiful sounding game. The opening cinematic, just as you get past the first loading screen is a brilliant piece on it's own. The way the picture gets sketched out and filled in like a water color painting, then watching it come to life simply takes my breath away. The music that accompanies it is simply stunning and really sets the mood for what will be a remarkable piece of work. Very few games have gotten my attention with it's visuals and music like that. I went to great lengths just to find a copy of the soundtrack for this game it was that good. I was quite literally playing (what I considered) a work of gaming art.
Surprised this wasn't mentioned earlier.Gunblade7303 said:Im going with Okami on this one people.
I entered this thread thinking the exact same thing!silentsentinel said:I liked the newest Prince of Persia. Felt like I was in an awesome watercolor painting.
