At the beginning of the mission 'Crew Expendable' in Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare. Hell, the whole thing was great and beautiful!

Most (if not all) of the cut scenes in Mass Effect.(sorry, it's been a while since I last played, so I can't really pick out a fave.)

The beginning of Half Life 2. It's just so fucking epic.

Sooo much in Majora's Mask. Keep in mind that the whole game is played out through the same constantly repeating 3 days which end with the Moon crushing the earth.

*Possible spoilers*

Saving Romani from the aliens.

Cremia's "gift" to Link.

Making Grog's chickens grow, followed by him claiming he has "no regrets now"

Calming the Goron Baby's crying.

Healing Darmani and Mikau's souls.

Igos Du Ikana's speech about friendship.

Putting Skull Keeta to rest.

Reuniting the sea horses.

Playing Ballad of the Wind Fish and making Gorman cry.

Healing Pamela's Gibdo father, followed by her tearfully hugging him and claiming that he's been suffering from a bad dream.

Reuniting Anju and Kafei. I'm not going to elaborate. You have to see this yourself. Claim yourself as manly as you want to be. You. Will. CRY.

Healing Sharp with the Song of Storms, followed by him begging his brother for forgiveness.

And last, but certainly not least, stopping the Moon from destroying Termina. Even if you save the four regions and do all the sidequests, the moon is still going to come down, you either restart time or climb the Clock Tower, and when you do summon all the giants, stop the moon, and kill Majora, the moon explodes into a rainbow. You then realize all of this has stemmed from Skull Kid's increasing feelings of abandonment from the giants leaving him. The whole thing is beautifully summed up with Skull Kid asking Link "will you be my friend?" followed by a montage of all the people you've helped throughout the game.

Waking up in Stalker, on a day where the radiation is high and the sun peaks though a thin layer of cloud, breaking the shadows of the night, while on the road beneath you a line of bandits wearily leave their base to go out on a raid, not noticing that their being observed by the Duty squad concealed in the bushes.

That and all of Crysis warhead.

Every single second of BioShock. Either that or when you open a goldcrate in BF: Bad Company.

What would the most beautiful sight in a video game be for you?

Here are my nominations:
Stronghold Crusader: Seeing an enemy castle consumed by flame.
Half Life 2: Your first introduction to Alyx Vance. Every other time you see Alyx is a runner-up.
Dawn of War: A Baneblade tank belonging to you.
Command & Conquer 3: A Nod nuke belonging to you going off.
damn you, the moment i read the title i thought of your hl2 reference

The helicopter that comes to rescue you at the end of One Shot, One Kill in Call of Duty 4.
God, I'll never forget playing that mission in Veteran, I even whent through the Albert Einstein way and tried it differently each time (You know how he said that insanity is trying to achieve something by using the same method over and over again) and each time I'd be killed by some guy's rifle that could be fired all the way from Japan and still hit me, or from some grenade some guy lobbed with his bionic arm all the way from the USA and still manage to hit me, then explode on me, etc...

And the crowning moment came when, after picking up McMillan, I realized I was taking lot's of bullets and not dying, after which I completely lost my mind and started running towards the enemies whilst shouting "WHAT NOW FUCKERS?! THE GAME IS ON MY SIDE NOW!! I DON'T SEE YOU KILLINGME ANYM... oh fuck"

I can remember gawking every single time I reached a high spot in Assassin's Creed. That game was royally beautiful. Oh yes, and whenever the little +10 sign shows up in my screen after sniping someone in CoD :D

Leaving the vault in fallout was really cool the first time. But better than that was blowing up Megaton and seeing the nuke go off. God I love fallout 3.

It's more than likely been mentioned before, but the nuke in Call of Duty 4 (and the Aftermath) was beautiful and shocking at the same time

Also in Call of Duty 4, the assassination from One Shot, One Kill, and when you properly kill the villain at the end.

In a different game, in KotOR, near the end, if you choose the dark side path. I was actually impressed by how easily I managed to cut down my two Jedi companions and knowing just how much more powerful I was than them

After having the rest of your team savagely mauled and killed, and your health dropping fast from going down one too many times with no medkits, nothing beats the sight of that red steel door signifying the temporary sanctuary that is a safe house.
