This may sound a little cliche, but whenever I healed a land in the new Prince of Persia. When that music kicks in and you see all the black goo being evaporated and replaced by pristine green, it's just beautiful.

World of Warcraft: The Wrathgate Cinematic

Yes, I'm a nerd. Deal with it.
That was pretty damn awesome. If there were more parts in WoW like that I might not have quit xD

Besides that I've got a couple, to finish the WoW thing getting your first epic is pretty awesome.

Oblivion has been cited several times and I agree. I seriously just freaked out the first time I saw the world. And preceded to explore for about an hours before traveling, on foot, to the Priory.

The opening scene of Bioshock was good.

and Fallout 3 was pretty awesome with the opening. Rather interestingly done, though I never got further than 5 minutes outside because of some reason.

The cut scene where Delta Squad is cutting their way out of the worm, that was beautiful, not to mention funny. Force Unleashed... taking down that Imperial Star Destroyer. Seeing that giant starship being ripped from the sky was absolutely amazing. Blowing up Megaton in Fallout 3. It was a little evil, but so worth it. Ah and on the subject of bombs, the death of the American main character of CoD4. Stumbling around as the city crumbles around you. That was eerily beautiful. Ah yes, and you can't forget some of the views in Assassin's Creed, especially the one in Jerusalem on its highest tower... then jumping off it.

I know this probably runs on the low end of the graphics spectrum for most of you, but pretty much anything Guild Wars. You can find beautiful little hidden nooks like waterfalls, underground caves with sunlight streaming down, or an enchanted garden of red lillies in an ice world (Gwen's garden). That plus pretty music = nice. ^^

Watching as the grasslands burn in Far Cry 2 while you're up on a rock.
The first shot of the outside world in Oblivion.
Prince of Persia on PC made me awe for the first few seconds, then it was, y'know, repetitive.
Guild Wars has an amazing array of locations to marvel at - especially waterfalls and the cities...
And, as a my all time favourite, No One Lives Forever - seeing as it was my first favourite FPS... it's just nostalgic.

In Left 4 Dead, watching the plane crash in Dead Air, pretty intense. Beating up Andrew Ryan in Bioshock, not exactly beautiful, but visceral. When you first walk outside in Fallout 3, priceless.
I agree with the dead air part that was perrty damn intense. My other favorite that comes to mind was in the original god of war when you walk through a gate and are fighting bad guys and see ares in the background destroying the city

There are some Killzone 2 online maps which look really good but Okami wins here. The whole game looks beautiful.

Honorable mentions: Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Bioshock and God of War.

Dawn of war series when you have a Baneblade and 2 Lemans and just smashing evrything in your way to pieces

In the Power Puff Girls game where you get that hat.... Just kidding.

The most beautiful thing I've ever seen in a video game is probably the end credits. If it was a shite game then hurray its over, if it was a good game you get to get up and get some food with that nice satisfied feeling you get after a good game.

COD4: - The Nuke going off was amazing, and walking through the destroyed city after crawling out of the helicopter was chilling.
- When you shoot down the chopper in One Shot One Kill and it crashes into the building and comes towards you propeller spinning. That was awesome.

Gears of War: - When you're on the train in the last stage, if you look up at the sky, it looks freaking mezmerizing.

Army of Two: - Same as the Gears of War reference, but it's the water when you're on the aircraft carrier that looks awesome instead.

Other than that, the most beautiful sites for me are when you're either escaping certain death by the skin of your teeth (One Shot One Kill's helicopter rescue for example), or when you're rushing into a huge battle that you know is gonna kick ass, like Zone of Enders 2's Airship Battle.

OH, or when you're working with a team, be it actual players or A.I., and you're all just plowing forward towards your enemies or objectives. It's a beautiful sight. I love those first seconds of a multiplayer match of C.O.D. 4 when everyone loads up and then rushes out, or if you play a mission in Armored Core For Answer where you have a teammate, and you both just hit the overboost at the same time and rush a huge Arms Fort. It's sweet.

Anything in Supreme Commander!
Especially watching my 500+ gunships commander snipe all 7 other players through their AA wall and shields.
Then watching the look on their faces (Yay LAN)
Also launching 50 nukes at once. Just because I can.

In X3 Reunion: Sectors like Red Light and Power Circle, they appear to have volcanic planets that give off a red glow and it looks absolutely awesome to be cruising through those sectors.
