Damnit, you just ruined it for me. The assumption that it was his final flight was what made it so moving and powerful.

CURSE YOU!

That... Really ruined my evening... *cries*

That was probably the most depressing thing that I've ever watched.

--Xvito, keeping it... Sad.

I thought that sound was the Kiwi smashing against the ground.

That's inspirational and depressing at the same time. Just look at all that hard work he put in, just to make his dream of flying come true.

Does anime count? Gankutsuou was kind of depressing. If not, then that "Kiwi!" one was really depressing, also moving.

Futurama, more preciesly, Jurassic Bark episode.

I assume you watched it, if not, you probably regret it... Anyway, in that episode, Fry (protagonist) finds a fossile of his dog from the year 2000. He tries to bring him back to life, meanwhile, we get to see a lot of scenes from their life - where they met, how did they spend time and play.

Then, Fry realises that his dog was fossiled at the age of 15 - so basically, he died 12 years after Fry was frozen. He knows that this dog wouldn't be happy, that he had a new life, new owners and has learned a lot new trick already...

But the truth was a lot sadder, and that makes me cry - the dog waited for Fry to come back, every single day, rain or snow, not moving from the place Fry worked at. God, why did I remind myself of how sad that was...

The problem with that is that after you look at his other stuff, you realise its not touching, but just cruel and disturbing.

That made me cry. I choose the Kiwi video and the episode about Frys dog in Futurama because they are the only shows to make me cry in a long, long time.

Every other animated story EVER pales in comparisson to "Grave of the Fireflies" it is pure sadness in its most raw form.

Seriously, it's the sad, sad journey of two orphaned children in WW2 Japan who both die right before the Americna Relief Forces arrive, it's called "Grave of the Fireflies" because fireflies die so young.

I don't know about depressing, but they're sure freaky as hell. You remember Road Rash for the Playstation? The animation style was just really... creepy. Because it was realistic to an extent, just slightly warped to give it an edge... again freaky. Also the Ren & Stimpy Show... When they would do a close up of a character... if you've watched the show, you know exactly what I'm talking about and most likely agree with me.

I almost cried at the end of that episode.
