Video Walkthroughs are your friend.

That is, if you're still interested in getting all orbs.

I'm surprised no one has said this yet, but it has to be:
World Champion (GRAW) - Climb to the top of the Universal leaderboard

I don't see how anything can beat that. The game isn't nearly as popular now though, so it might be easier.
Well, I was about to say that, but you ninja'ed me

It is the hardest one ever

Ooh i am, but every building looks practically the same and i would get lost, and i don't know which ones i previously managed to randomly get.

I started my game ages ago, and haven't touched it till now =\

So im sort of bewildered and baffled, mehh i'll cope. The citizens of New York will be seeing Alex Merecer on a Day-to-Day basis for a while, picking up cars, running with zed car down the road and bashing anything out of my way, blowing up hives and army basses, and jumping around Skyscrapers till they are found...

Muahahahahaha

The Technical Fighter achievement in SFIV. That's the one for getting everybody's challenge in hard, right?
Its hard as hell simply because it takes perfect execution and timing on a very imprecise controller. Rage! (360's D-Pad is too small and in the wrong place)
Ya pretty much this, or all the final one, Unbeatable Fist, in general. Many of these include winning 15 ranked battles in a row, beat all the challenges on normal and hard(which mainly require you to be a master all the moves, combos, and links for each character), and beating the game on hardest and others.

Now those are some real achievements..but damn..

....seriously...
come on guys if gears of wars' almost impossible achievement isn't top of all lists for impossible achievements. It was time consuming 10,000 kills online I think and difficult because they had to be online against real people. I never got it I don't even want to try and I don't know a single person who did.
By the way massive kudos and respect for anybody who did.

The Dark Sector 1 that eats up 80 hours of gameplay. There's nothign harder than playing a terrible game for that long

10,000? Try 100,000.

Any collectible-gathering achievements without a guide, particularly in GTA or Assassin's Creed. I mean, how many fucking flags are there? I've been through pretty much everywhere in the game and I haven't even found half of them.

I think you can boost the "Weekly" leaderboard for that one, iirc.
I believe you are incorrect. For the sake of my damning original post and the fact I swear it is for "All time" leaderboards as that's what all the internet guides suggested while I searched for the achievement online.
Well fuck. You win.

Duke Nukem Forever achievement for turning off the console, leaving the house, meeting a nice girl, taking a sailing boat around the world, having 3 beautiful blond children, and finally dying contempt with the knowledge that you didn't spend 12 years waiting for an utterly pedestrian sequel to a game that everyone stopped caring about around 1997 to be released by developers who makes.... something about a ball.

Way of the Master Ninja, Ninja Gaiden 2. x360a named it as the hardest achievement of 2008, and is probably the hardest ever.

And I have it.

Anyway, anyone of those guitar hero achievements that go, "get 1000 consecutive notes".

Any multiplayer achievement in The Darkness, because no-one ever plays online on it.
that just means it's easy to boost, or does that not count?
There's one in luxor 2 (a crappy arcade game) that basically requires about 200 hours of gameplay. Seriously, I've played about 72 hours between modern warfare 1 and 2 altogether and become bored with them, what chance does a shit arcade game have of me playing it more than twice that?! it's just difficult in that i struggle to conceive of the kind of person with the lack of friends, hobbies and power buttons for the xbox who would be sad enough to legitimately get that achievement.

In terms of time consumption, that one in Bomberman Act zero where you have to break a million soft blocks. IIRC it's been calculated you would need to play it for 430 or more hours. And the game sucks.

In terms of sheer difficultly, probably "A very troubled youngster" from Green day rock band. This is because of well... This:
it doesn't look that....I mean maybe it's....there might be....ok no, that shit is insane. Seriously, it took me an age to beat run to the hills on expert drums, and that makes it look easy. Doubtless there'll be someone who can get 100% though

I'm going with the achievement for all Battle Trophies in Star Ocean 4.

I'm pretty sure I win this thread, but most people here haven't touched that game, so they don't know just how impossible that really is.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/star-ocean-the-last-hope/guide/#

This whole game is pretty much damn hard to achievement mine.
That looks more Time consuming then Hard. I can understand at time one might be stupid but that seems like a more Time Consuming achievement then a "Hard" achievement.

OT: MAG had some that were annoying to get. You had to destroy like 5 bunkers and 20 transport cars in games with 125 other people on your team trying to do the same thing.
Let me fill you in on something...A large number of those trophies ARE MISSABLE if you don't do them very early, like on the first playthough. And then you'll have to restart the game from scratch. Like, new save data, scratch.
sounds more time consuming than hard, even with your elaboration.

Say what? If you choose "Tuesday's Gone" by Skynyrd on Guitar Hero Metallica on Medium and don't miss once, you'll hit 1047 notes in a row. It's easy.

Also, earning the platinum trophy for GTA 4, 100 percent'ing the game. How can someone possibly get that when a game is that boring?

But "The Way of the Master Ninja" seems fairly insane.
