Now I ain't talking about what made you cry, that belongs to sadness.

Simply put, what in a game, be it cutscene or in-game, got the strongest emotionl pull from you.

I have two that I want to put forward, one is the Christmas level from Elite Beat Agents. One level that comes out of nowhere and puts the game out of its wackiness factor.

Little Lucy, age 7, wants her father, Matthew to return from his business trip in time for Christmas. Unfortunately, her father appears to have died in an accident, as Lucy's mother, Laura tries to explain.

Lucy refuses to belive this, and wishes that her father would be home for Christmas. Then the game begins. What's interesting to note is that typically, a level begins with the character screaming for help. This one does not, Lucy is kneeling, tears clearly in her eyes, and wishing for her father to come back.

Also noteworthy is the Agents dancing in this level, while they typically bust out the moves they need to save the day, in this one, all they do is wave their hands to the rhythm of the song, "You're the Inspiration."

As the songs story progresses, Lucy and her mother clean her father's room, stumbling across his diary, they then bake a cake to celebrate his birthday, the candles on the cake are put gently out by a sudden gust of wind.

Then we see Lucy dreaming of chasing her father who only appears as a shadow in the distance, performing well in this segment makes Lucy get closer and closer to the silhouette, performing badly means that she lags behind. Completing this segment positively has Lucy call out for her father, and just as the dream ends, he turns to her voice.

The final segment then begins, with a slider bar appearing in the shape of a star, completing this segment has Lucy and Laura trimming a tree and waiting for her father to show.

He does alright, the sheer love and devotion that Lucy and Laura have for Matthew bring him back for Christmas, he also brings a gift for Lucy, a girlfriend for her teddybear, hust like he promised.

I read about people who had this level get to them, and, well, I never thought it would hit me hard, having read and prepared for it. But. still, towards the end, I could feel my eyes dampening, and I felt like I'd been punched in the throat.

It got to me. The sudden atmosphere change, the beats and claps being changed to bells and chimes, and that damn song, got to me.

Sorry for the TL;DR, but I needed that off my chest since Christmas.

My second was a relatively small case, in Bioshock, having just rescued a Little Sister, I sent her on her merry way to the nearest vent. Halfway there she was attacked by a Splicer. They hit her with a pipe, and she dropped to the floor. Dead cannot even describe what happened to that Splicer. I thought for sure that negligence had just cost me the life of a little girl.

Then the Little Sister got up and began to make her way to the vent again. I beat down Splicers that even so much as sneezed near the Sister. Once again, completely out of nowhere, wasn't expecting it, and afterwards I began to oversee every Little Sisters safe return to a vent, whereas before, I assumed Infant Immortality had kicked in after I rescued them.

What made you swear vengeance on a person, what warmed your heart, what lifted your sporits, and yes, what made your eyes just that little bit damp?

Couldn't find anything related to emotional gaming moments, burn me if you need to, but goddamn it I tried to find one.

In Final Fantasy VII:

When Aeris died. Nothing has ever made me hate a villain so much! GRR Sephiroth...just GRR.

Its an old game, and I'm sure even people that didn't play it already know this spoiler, but I didn't wanna ruin it for anyone that didn't play it.

Well, if total blistering adrenaline is an emotion, than Left 4 Dead 2.

I don't think I've ever been as happy in a game as when I got on that helicopter at the end of Dark Carnival on expert. I felt like a warrior, a survivor, a... Bruce Campbell if you will.
This. Especially with gnome chompsky in your hands.

Watching a man worn down with grief for his still living with wife and coming to smother her to death out of a combination of conscious love and unconsciously guilty frustration in Silent Hill II.

Various moments from FFVII.

The momentary surge of utter hatred being satisfied when you have the bastard who just teabagged you in any decent FPS is in your sights and they turn, seemingly in slow motion, as you shoot.

The ending of GTA IV

Niko's girlfriend gets killed in a drive-by and you go track the boss down and execute him. I felt really bad for him. His life seemed to just be getting better. Then boom! hes stuck with just his fat cousin again. And Roman is the one who gets the girl instead of him.

If you do the deal however...

Roman is killed at his wedding, sure he may be a fat useless, lecherous slob, but goddamnit he is family. You also lose Kate, or whatever her name is, as Niko chose money over his beliefs, which severely pissed her off.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't eh?

The Nuke scene on both the modern warfares.
The first one was great the first time cause it invoked a weird sensation of loss and impending death.
The second one just looked awesome... Then.
It cuts back to you, right after being blinded by a searchlight watching your impending death get stopped by the nukes EMP burst. Which doesn't last long when Shit starts raining from the sky. That rush was good the first time.

Lost Odyssey disc 1 spoilers.. If you have played it - you must know which scene it is.
Lirum's death in Lost Odyssey...
If I would have cried - the tears would have been tears of manliness. It's just a really emotional scene.

When I learned the cake was a lie *Cries*

Seriously though, probably in HL2:EP2 when you have to hold off the Ant lion waves. Do that on Hard.

Emotions start flaring, and then when you run out of ammo and resort to crowbar.

Intense.

When Tidus first finds out that Yuna will die while theyre in Home, think i actually cried at that bit.

VEGER! Totally made me want to rip that guy in half.

My moment was the real "I hate you dad" scene in Final Fantasy 10, at the Dream's End after you kill Jecht, which fucking sucks, Jecht is too awesome to die! And the ending, "Yuna, I have to go." Taking the running dive off the airship, past Auron and Braska to high-five Jecht, man that was awesome!

In fact, there's too many in FF10 to list, that game is bloody awesome.

For me a small part of Fallout 3. When you're exloring the purifier you come across an old audio tape in one of the rooms, recorded by your dead mum. Its a small thing, but the happiness and laughter she is having with your father is for me an incredibly emotional moment; especially if this isn't your first play through and you know some of the events that will be happening soon.
