In my high school English class everyone was chatting as the teacher was done with her lesson for the day. So one of those random moments of complete silence that seem to pop up in rooms full of conversation happened and one girl unexpectedly broke the silence with the query:

"What's a dildo?"

The room burst into laughter and the teacher frowned and said "When you find out what that is, you'll realize how totally inappropriate that question is." Without doubt the funniest moment of ignorance I've ever seen.

Not so ignorant, but still a great teacher response:

And then the teacher proceeded to tell us to always use verbs in our insults

People using ignorant without knowing what it meant. I eventually got so fed up I asked "Dude,do you even know what ignorant means?" He replied saying "Well,I dunno. What does it mean?" I replied after facepalming "You're being kind of ignorant right now by not knowing the definition of ignorant." He then asked "So what does ignorant mean?" I facepalmed again and walked away.

oh god, i think nearly 60% of my high school didnt know what ignorant meant. They use it as a synonym for rude. I once almost got my ass kicked for pointing that out to someone. He said "Stop being so ig'nant(yes thats right he left out the -nor-)!" So i replied "Actually you are ignorant in the definition of ignorant..." I think it confused him.

High fives aside,pretty much everyone I know who uses the word ignorant on a daily basis doesn't know the definition of it. And as all us paranoid New Jerseyans say "It's Chris Christie's fault."

I would probably go with how the other day at school (im a HS freshman) i was in my Psychology class and one of the students actually asked our teacher "Mr. *****, when is now?" I realize he probably meant what time it is, but it just sounded so ungodly stupid.

Either that, or it's a rather profound philosophical question. Considering it was a Psychology class, I would give him the benefit of the doubt. It is pretty freaky when you think about it; what exactly is now?

OT: A girl in my History class who said "The Berlin Wall? That's the one in China, right?"

See, sadly all this is doing is fanning a negative stereotype by creating an availability bias. Notice that they used the same people for a lot of the questions to make the video longer. They implied that everyone they interviewed was an idiot by only showing people that they obviously sook out because of their appearance, knowing they would be stupid rednecks. So it also creates an image towards everyone else that we all look like that. I can bet that most of the people that they interviewed were able to answer all of those questions. Notice that it was bright in some clips but dark in others. This shows that they were out there for a long time, and that was all the idiocy that they could come up with. Media outlets do this because the "stupid American" story is always better well received. It's a self fulfilling prophecy.
So on topic, ^this is the biggest display of ignorance I've ever seen. When people try to sound like they know what they're talking about by insulting a group when all they have to say is stuff they've heard from others. (This is especially true for people who hate religion)

At my school they just say it for whatever.Examples: Her purse is so ignorant. That math homework is so ignorant. I feel like hitting them with a dictionary.

I was on a school trip over the summer and I was the oldest kid there (senior), with the other kids ranging from 8th to sophomore, with parents too. We were in Normandy at the International World War II museum, and all the flags of the major waring powers were outside the museum. One of the dads walking beside me who up until this point I like said...
Him: Why is Germany's flag up there?
Me: Cause they fought here too.
(Me thinking that was funny, but just a little slip up, we all have 'em... until)
Him: But they came over here on there own.
Me: Not really, they were just doing what they were told to do as soldiers, same as us.
Him: Then why isn't Russia's flag up there?
(I glance at the flags)
Me: Yeah they are, they're right there.
Him: No it's not, Russia's flag is red with the symbols at the top left.
Me:...
What really got is that this was a DAD, a FATHER, and he didn't have the damn open-mindedness or even knowhow that the Russians changed their damn flag.
Same trip I was embarrassed to be American when we were at the German cemetery (which is a trash heap) and the younger kids were playing tag among the graves.
Just wrong, I know they Nazi Germany was terrible, but the vast majority of Germans weren't, that's like saying all Americans are Democrat or Republican, it's just not true. Just burns me to think about it.

The best examples of ignorance shown here are those people, who even when shown the evidence to their lack of knowledge, still refuse to accept the truth of the situation. All I would like to add to this is ... Shame on you. Don't you know that these people were put on earth to be exploited. If you have ever dreamed of having your own cult or extremist party these are the people you need to get such an organization in motion. Who knows you could be the leader of the next scientology, especially if your followers are rich and stupid.

My older sister was driving me into town and we drove right past a rabbit that stayed completely still, the conversation went like this.
