The most hilarious death in a video game.

Postal 2. When you commit suicide you eat a grenade and your head blows off. Classic.

Suicide in games can be pretty funny, like in Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. Stare at the Cthulhu Idol, inject some morphine (I think that's what it was) and eventually strangle yourself to death...or blow off your face.

My favorite deaths though came from Dark Void. Turn on your jet-pack in any small, indoor space like a hallway or something and you smear yourself along the walls and ceiling. Funny as hell!

I've heard a lot about this game, and am intrigued by it.

Would you recommend it?

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 multiplayer, Me and a friend place 4 or something C4 on a staircase, stood at an anglle then detonated, my corpse flew across the map, hit the skybox and landed somewhere in the nothingness of the void.

Oh, and in GTA IV I had a fun time spawning the annililator chopper, flew out to the statue of libitery island, jumped out and survived a fairly high jump, when I got my bearings, I saw a single door from the chopper falling down right infront of me, only to look up to see the chopper seconds before crushing me.

Good times to be sure!

Yeah I've got to go with Adam the Clown from Dead Rising. I restarted so I could play that boss fight again.

I remember playing Eternal Darkness and trying to protect a monk NPC, and I accidentally sliced his head off with my sword. I actually freaked out a little, "Oh CRAP! Sorry, I'm sorry!" It was pretty funny after about five minutes. And me and a friend had plenty of fun playing Saw when we would do our best not to be killed by maniacs running around and then BAYUM! walk right into a shotgun trip wire.

Red Dead Redemption for me, I was on my horse and some cougers started attacking, I was aiming at one of them who was running in front but pulled the trigger too soon and shot my horse in the back of the head, then the cougers attacked and killed me.

Done that myself, it's so embarrassing killing your horse from under you

In Fallout 3, I was exploring an empty house, didn't see one of those shotgun tripwire traps and walked right into it, which took most of my health (I was still fairly low-level at the time).
I panicked, was looking around to try to see who was shooting at me, and ran right into another one.

Was very much a facepalm moment once I realised what had happened.

Drakan: The Ancient's Gates. There was one particular area where if you jumped into a whirlwind you got diced up into finely sliced cubes.

Farcry 2. A I shot a guy so he dropped but didn't die but in the few seconds he ragdolled before getting back up he slid underneath a nearby car. When he got up the car got launched about 20ft into the air and landed on me, killing me.

When that one chick from Halo:Reach died i laughed for an hour.

That was probably the first time I have ever laughed out loud at a video game.

Came from nowhere, but didn't come as a surprise just felt out of place and hilarious.

Oh god this. When the strings started playing I nearly wet myself. As if I was expected to care more about this character's death solely by virtue of her gender. (The writers seemed to think that having a bionic arm was an actual character trait, but I digress)

Speaking of Halo, the first time I heard "Oh no, not again!" made me laugh. You mean, little grunt, that this has happened before? Got old pretty quickly though

In Morrowind I used the levitation spell thinking it'd be cool, only I realised I couldn't do anything up there and so fell back to the ground and died instantly.

As for an NPCs death, watch the animation for Lazarevic when he bites the dust in Uncharted 2 (and no, I'm not going to consider the baddie in an Indiana Jones-themed game dying a spoiler). Obviously their animation budget ran out at exactly that point because it is hilarious.

I laugh every time i snipe a group of talon mercs in Fallout three with a fat-man, dumb bastards always walk in that box formation and i always ping the guy in the center to maximize death. whats funny about it is you see their reaction to the mini nuke just as it goes off and they're like WTF!? the BOOOOM!

Probably not by nature, but I find this death from Tales of Vesperia pretty hilarious. But only because of how many puns and riffs I can make out of it.

I'm one of the unlucky fellows who was once killed by an explosive barrel being propelled over a man-cannon on Halo 3's Valhalla level. I'll never forget that WTF moment of turning around straight into view of a flying barrel before being instantly killed.

I can't remember what game but I remember I was playing with the autosave off and using quicksave, I quicksaved when I fell off a cliff in a panic and had to restart the whole game as I couldn't salvage myself XD

I was like 70% through.

My GF was playing Metal Gear Solid 3 when she just got the game. She was messing with the controls and the first thing she does is take a flying leap off the very first cliff where you land in the game.

Snake couldn't handle the pressure.

Ironically she ended up finishing the game faster than me.

Watching that Carmeggedon video after they reduce the friction of all GTA IV cars to 0. The protagonist random gets creamed by cars flying through the air in very hilarious fashions!
