It isn't really a video game but in a D&D 3.5 someone used a kobold as a weapon xD it was a pretty awesome warrior moment for the fighter but ultimately ended up in failure. after a few swings he was just wielding a bloody stump xD

Note: The finger in worms isnt really a weapon, its a poke.. more of a taunt. it says to your opponent yes i'm here, and yes i could have Axed you but i poked you instead, and yes i am still going to beat you!

The portal gun? can really attack something with portals no matter how hard you think.
The Battle Wrench from Dark Cloud 2, its the wrench you use to fix crap at your job, that you then use to beat the shit out of clowns.

The Crossbow from Deus Ex.

I must be doing something wrong, because I have NEVER been able to get that piece of junk to work properly. It has always been far more efficient for me to knife, or hell, even sneak past the A.I rather than using it.
With tranquilizers, it was actually my favorite.
Weird...

Yeah it was. You used it in situations where an enemy worm was on a cliff over water. You use the poke to push them off thus killing them.

When I played Deus Ex, I used that damn thing more than any other gun because the enemies were too stupid to alert anyone while they were running around passing out (oxymoronic right?)

I haven't played Reach yet, but "the most disappointing weapon" award is a three way tie to the steady decline in power of Halo's most fun guns. The plasma pistol, Magnum Pistol, and Shotgun were all amazing and fun in Halo, then progressively got worse with each iteration.

Looser spread, lower damage, slower fire rate... the triple threat of the gun nerfhammer.

And and against the balancing arguments, I present exhibit A; the Halo Spanker, which got ridiculously better with each iteration.

P.S. Anyone else desperately miss the first Halo's frag grenade animations?

The knife in Serious Sam: The Second Encounter. It's your default melee weapon, but literally 2 meters in from the start you pick up a chainsaw, with infinite fuel and no cool-down time; it insta-gibs the weaker enemies at a close distance. The knife becomes less of a weapon, and more of a minor hindrance as you scroll through the weapon list trying to find something that's actually useful.

And there's an achievement in Serious Sam HD to knife FIFTY SIBERIAN WEREWOLVES. Fuck me, these beasts barely register a rocket blast to the face as painful, and when they're charging at you at 70km/h, pulling out your toothpick of a knife just seems like a bloody waste of time.

The Finger from Worms.

*Poke* 1 damage!
The Finger is amazing. It's the ultimate cliff-edge-kill tool.

OT: I'd have to say probably the Lightning/Shuriken gun from Painkiller (or any gun from Painkiller really). There's no way in hell all but one or two of them would actually function in reality, and the ones that do would likely fail miserably.

yea,the most impractical weapon ever.I can't really put a finger on mine but arguably the carbine from halo. The needle rifle is better than this and when I was playing halo 3 I RARELY used it.
The needle rifle wasn't IN halo 3.

The carbine is the covenant equivalent as the battle rifle. Are you saying the battle rifle is useless?

The plasma pistol, frag grenade, pistol, and shotgun all were greatly improved in Reach. I don't know what you're talking about.

Let's see...

FF8-style Gunblade - Of course, there's been some improvement on the idea what with using swords that also fire gunshots. But this? I was hoping when I first played FF8 that it shot blades. What is it? A revolver minus the barrel attached to a blade which ignites fire on it with essentially a quick-time event. And can you get rid of it for a better weapon? No, because apparently Squall can't swing a REAL SWORD. Complain all you like, but this gets chucked into the bin for its cousin who actually shoots stuff AND cuts properly.

Has anyone ever used that piece of junk?
I once killed a Super Mutant Behemoth with it. That is after I went to town on it with a Gatling Laser, though.

I'm going to have to go with some of the items from Dead Rising 2, like the whipped cream or the joke-items. They do literally no damage, and some don't even have a bad effect
Hehehe, like the giant teddy bear. :p
