All that, and the insanely cheap garage bomb mission made me trade off that game for the collector's box set of the first three Devil May Cry games. It was one of the best exchanges of games I ever made.

Call of Duty 4. Playing online until Barret M82 .50cal is finally mine. Then shooting someone in the chest with it and they don't even slow down. Nothing like the biblical power I was expecting.

Well you got to remember that it's toned downand balanced in MP-games. A barret M82 .50cal would explode his chest, leaving his arms, head and legs in 4 different directions

LoTR: BFME 2. skirmish. I'm Gondor, playing against Dwarves on Hard. Helm's Deep. I was finally able to get one of my Catapaults over to the Deeping wall Without it Getting it Smashed up by their Battlewagons. i lost most of my men to The damn Oil Barrels. I was finally able to build up a new Calvalry to assualt the fortress when... "Is that them? is that the enemy?" who do i see emerging from the fog? King Dain,Gimli,Gloin,and Krashnak, the unlockable orc. Dain has his Guard ability on, which gives him three maxed out Units. right when my force gets to the Deep, i call them back to Attack the heroes. My force, which was 1000 men strong, was wiped out in seconds by 65 short dudes and an Orc.

I would say those times in an RPG where you finally kill that huge boss that has stopped you dead. Then right after you kill him another boss three times harder comes out of the woodwork to kill you. One of these moments in is every Final Fantasy. I hate it!

The most unfair thing is trying to get the acheivement "get some grub" in HL2: Ep2, its freggin impossible.

It is, since you have to get every single one of them. and their all around the place. walls ceilings etc. i played ep2 few times jsut to get it and i had apparently missed few since i didnt get it.

mine came with my first shot at smackdown vs. raw 2007's story mode. Naturally being the creative little freak I am, I insisted on playing as a created character. I'm sure to some of you don't think this a bad Idea until I explain it this way, each wrestler starts off the game with a number, telling you how good they are. The weakest character in SVR 07 was Trevor Murdoch with 77...created character start out with 23. Naturally, I was overjoyed to learn my first group of matches was me and my partner (Rob van Dam in case you cared) shooting for the tag titles. My first match was us again two of the biggest guys WWE (kane and the big show). I step out to the ring to discover that RVD had abandoned me. In what can only be described as the biggest ass-pounding I have ever received in a video game...ever

Some sort of fire dragon in Ninja Gaiden who is quite dumb considering I always read stories about dragons being the wisest of wyrms, but he had an attack which could not be blocked by anything but using ninpo at the exact right time. Imagine fighting that thing with only 2 small health potions, a half full health bar and next to no ki.

In the last UEF mission of Supreme Commander, when the little Monkey Lord brigade shows up on your island.

For those unfamilar with the game, the MonkeyLord is one of the faction's super-weapons, and probably the signature unit of Supreme Commander. It's very large, fairly fast, amphibious, has a lot of armor and sports a variety of weaponry, including the Microwave Laser which would do somewhere on the order of 12,000 damage a second (enough to kill any unit aside from other super units, SCU's, or upgraded Commanders in under a second). It was a very cost effective and threatening Experimental.

But anyway, the whole mission is defending an island (technically half of it, since the other half is out of view) and things aren't that bad. The mission is mostly fending off large air and sea attacks and launching a sea based attack on an enemy islands, so I ended up with essentially a U shaped defense network of SAMs and Torpedo launchers, with the very north fairly open. Then comes a very large attack lead by a number of MonkeyLords from the north part of my island.

There was no reason to defend that area with anything, let alone ground defenses that could hold off multiple Experimentals. I was just dumbfounded, it was outside of my box of thinking, it wasn't something I was expecting or at all prepared for. Just left me stunned.

They ran though half my island as I proceeded to nuke-spam my own island, since I had virtually no ground assets to actually combat them with. I stopped them before they destroyed my defense objective, but lost most of my economy, most of my defense structures and most of my SCU's that were doubling as builders and resource generators. Disastrous.

One that I can remember is from Supreme Commander as well. Playing a skirmish against an NPC/AI player and built up a nice base defense, wall around most of my base with tech 1 + 2 guns, tech 2 artillery and anti-air guns along the edge facing the enemy base along with shield generators covering the whole lot. Wave after wave of vehicles came at it and got wiped out, mostly before they could get a shot off. Then all of a sudden an Aeon UFO Mothership (forget what you call them) looms out of the fog towards my base, with flak guns blasting away at it I just manage to take it out before it can do too much damage to my defenses. Unfortunately it didn't do what I expected it to do and blow up in mid-air but rather plummeted out of the sky, flattened two artillery guns some flak guns and five or six point defense guns. Not too much damage until it went nuclear and destroyed another twenty guns and three shield gennys. Taking out about a third of my defense in a few seconds.
