Basically, what is the most original weapon you've seen in a game. My entry would propably be the squid-looking thing from half life 1.

A gun that I thought was quite original (as in I've never seen it done in a game before) was the Bullseye from Resistance that tagged enemies. Then you could fire anywhere and your bullets would hit the enemy. Pure genius imo.
Also the sniper rifle that seemed to slow time (via sheer concentration) was kind of cool to me.
Most of the weapons from Dead Space were quite original.

I have to agree with those who mentioned the gravity gun. Before it, there was nothing that could fire random objects at people, and it was saddening. Now I can have fun taking out elite soldiers with a toilet of all things.

Actually Doom III came up with that idea before Valve (if i'm not mistaken).

Most of the weapons from the Quake series, esp Quake 1. I mean the nail gun and lightning gun.. brilliant weapons that you dont really see anymore
